Welcome to new Nuke Mom Caryn! My son is an EM at Goose Creek. Sorry, I don't know how the determination is made, maybe someone else does. Pat

Hi all! Talked to my son. The word is that Ballston is on indefinate hold. Supposedly he is being told that he will graduate prototype in Oct 09 - he was supposed to graduate Feb 09. So that is 8 months AFTER he was supposed to graduate. And that is if that holds, but there is no guarantee it will.

As of right now they are not sending anyone back down to SC, but who knows, that could change. I guess they are starting lectures, but there is only so much you can talk about when you can't actually do the work, and they can only do so much.

Caryn - I guess I don't know what determines what they are. I know my son is an MM3, but I guess I don't know why he got that. I guess someone can explain to me as well!!!

Hey Wanda - you aren't alone. My sailor sounds like yours! I shoudl qualify for pulling teeth out of bears - but he goes underwater before I can get close!

As of right now, no one is going to Ballston Spa. They have been on hold since October, and there is talk of shutting down completely. I am waiting to hear from my son, who is there, as to what is going on.

He was home for Christmas, and he just went back to work this morning, so he is calling me tonight to let me know where things stand. Supposedly they aren't going to use NY anymore, but it is not written in stone so don't hold me to it!!!! LOL!!!

Hi Pat; Lauren is checking with Kellen to see if we can get an address - and help from there. What a wonderful blessing you all are! While our sailor is distant it makes my heart feel very glad to be able to help another sailor.

Susan, If we can figure out a way to send some N4M support to Cameron, count me in!

Ginger, I know what you mean about the time flying by. I, for one, am in TOTAL denial about the second week going so fast.

Trina, So glad you had a great time with Spence.

Well Spence is on his way back to NY. He left this afternoon and is in Chicago now. We had a nice week long visit with him and it is sad to have him go but at least he was home for xmas and my b-day!!!

This might be a duplicate for those of us in the subs group - but I wanted to make sure that anyone connected with Cameron might be able to pray for him as well as figuring out how we can suppor this very special sailor. Thank you Wendy and Lauren. Some of us have hard relationships with our sailor's. Mine has taken that 'don't talk' beyond where it is ment to be. Now is married and it is very difficult to even get a phone call. He is very good at 'don't talk'. To the point I worry about him having friends.
However, if Cameron is willing - I would be very happy to be one of many to help. While we are in northern California (between Auburn and Reno) - which doesn't give us much of an opportunity to offer him a place to relax - we can write and get to know each other. I'll wait to hear.
On a very happy note for Wendy - I'm glad to hear that you have Jim and his family. Grandbabies are God's blessing abounding! I know that you are enjoying them. If you have a chance (and if they are four or older) - ask them about who they are their favorite stuff (number, color, etc.). It is fun to make a book with them on 'My Story". If you can do it every year - it becomes very cool. Thank you both - my angel blessings, Susan

Hi Wendy: Do you have any idea about how Cameron is doing? I had a disfunctional family - it breaks my heart. One of the blessings I feel with the Navy is that if there is family trouble - they will be ther to help. I've been praying for Cameron. Please let me know if he would like an e-mail/snail mail 'mom'. Susan Delete Comment
