For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by B'sNukeMoM⚓️MMN(Vet) on November 5, 2019 at 11:40am: Ok so right now the command for the Lincoln has put out a post that they do not want packages sent to the ship - I guess they are getting inundated with people wanting to help and they are concerned about getting a bunch of boxes that are just being randomly sent. They are trying to figure out a way that will best handle the situation. Once that is confirmed I'll pass on the info.

I think they were surprised at how many Navy moms/families would want to get involved!

Comment by SubMom on November 5, 2019 at 10:03am: Nuke Loo's Mom - our sailor has in PS last year at Thanksgiving. With that said, they do have down time but still have study hours that must be obligated, We opted to fly out and spend the holiday with him knowing he could fly home at Christmas. Also, he flew out the morning after last day of class. This gave him time to pack and catch his breath. He did go back a day early which was good because he did have a flight delay. This also gave him a day to just relax before class started up again.

Comment by SubMom on November 5, 2019 at 9:46am: I am so proud and excited for our sailor as he finishes the last leg of the pipeline at GC. It has gone by fast but also seems like a lifetime since he started this journey. I also realized this means he will be headed to the fleet - specifically sub duty. The reality check that we will most likely get a quick call saying he shipping out and will have no contact for however long he is deployed is not sitting well. Navy allergies really sucks!!

Since your son will be headed to GC around the 14th of Dec, I do not know how that will affect a possible Christmas leave compared with the sailors who have been there and "classed up" and "phased up". (Explained in my discussion above - Nuke A School daily schedule.) - Hopefully a Mom who was in that position last year will chime in.

We take one day at a time and Semper Gumby is our motto - Always Flexible.

I have to admit, I am slightly jealous, I only got to see my son's ship from a distance and had to climb four flights up a parking garage to get an overview!! I understand that Mama's heart!!

Comment by 3B'smom on November 4, 2019 at 11:31pm: Made a trip to Norfolk over the weekend. We were able to tour the Mighty Ike. “Mighty” doesn’t even begin to describe it. There truly are no words to describe the enormity. Our visit was short, but this mama’s heart is happy.
