aww Chipmunk, darn it, it's so hard to lose something that personal - I hope it gets returned to him quickly!

My son also uses our address as his home address for now, it just makes things easier. Another thing to consider is setting up power of attorney - we did before my son even left for BC. That way if he's deployed or otherwise unavailable I'm able to take care of things for him. One thing to watch out for on that - your bank may require their own power of attorney forms - ours wouldn't accept the one from the attorney's office on it's own, we had to download their PoA form and return it....

A prayer request for my son - he called this evening to say that he lost his pocket notebook on the ship today. He keeps notes and reminders in it. I guess he also had the last notes that he was writing for a story he was working on and had not managed to get it digitized yet. But also, it had a personal letter to him in it, as well as notes of upcoming things he needed to remember. - Prayers that the lost may be found and returned to him. Thanks!

Lots of chatter that I am catching up on today - forgive me if I miss someone.

BigSky21 - Congratulations to your son and quite the duty station report already.

Welcome to our conversations - New Adventure and Wink5, I am glad you are joining in.

JayDee659 - LOL!

Mammagoose - Enjoy this final season of homeschooling your youngest and when he is ready to fly, there will be something else waiting for you, whether in the paid arena or area of ministry.

CSW - thank you for sharing and being transparent with us. Life changes, especially in marriage can be very difficult, I pray for you that you might be at peace and go forth with joy!  Hugs from me as well.

BlancheMarie - my son as well has kept our home as permanent residence and his mail comes here, or he asks for it online, so I as well can keep tabs on things. He even called the other day to tell me about the toll statement that should be coming in the mail.

Hi all,  I’m jumping on the bio boat.  My husband and I have been married for 22 years and have three kiddos.   My husband is a pastor and is celebrating 20 years with our church this summer.   My oldest is my sailor.  My middle just finished high school with her associates degree from our local community college and my youngest is just 14....  he starts high school this fall.

We’ve been homeschooling all our kiddos for 14 years so with each child that graduates and flies the nest my life changes.  I’ve devoted my life to the academic success of my children so I’m looking at a pretty uncertain future with regards to employment and  I wouldn’t change a thing.

CSW....my prayers are going out for you.  If there is anything I can do....please let me know.

CSW, sending lots of emotional support to you and also, hugs.

Oh CSW I'm sorry to hear this.  Hoping that everything works out for the best - we are here for you. Hugs to you my friend.

Well, my bio is changing and I'm struggling with that change. Working on ending a 28 year marriage after evaluating the quality of life.  It's been especially difficult having all adult children (one nuke, one teacher) move over 1800 miles away from us with no immediate plans for marriage or grand kids. Hopefully this change will be healthier for both of us and perhaps eventually lead us back to where we started.  You all have been a great diversion and source of silent support when I'm especially struggling. Thank you all!

Hey Wink5 - nope - you're not late for the bio - thanks for dropping in!  You and NancyJo are both in NE - have you guys ever gotten together?  If not, you should try - NancyJo is awesome ;-D

And enjoy having your Sailor home!

Comment by Wink5 on June 12, 2019 at 4:35pm

Hi everyone, sorry I’m late for doing a bio. I lurk a lot and love reading all your posts. Here goes... been married 25 years this year. Have 3 boys, oldest is Nuke, middle is trying to figure out adulting, and youngest has multiple disabilities. All my boys are the light of my life. We live in SE Nebraska, fly over country to most of the US, but I think the people here are awesome! I could do without so much snow and all the flooding. We volunteer with a baseball league for kids with disabilities, seriously cool. We love to camp and boat and go to College Football games. My husband and I love to travel and meet new people. Got boots in the house right now and it’s amazing! Love that kid, I mean man. He is awesome! Loved the mom invasion cartoon posted. Super funny because I actually told my son when he joined the Navy if anything happened to him overseas, I will hunt down those responsible and end them and everyone they know! They should enlist Moms with their kids. LOL thanks for all your supportive posts, you are all the greatest!
