While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by William in Nashua on August 21, 2012 at 5:17pm: hi NavyMomLG, if they get orders to a submarine then they will be issued a room in the barracks at the submarine station. If they are ordered to a carrier, I think they have to sleep on the carrier. In other words once they are assigned to a surface ship or a submarine I think, they do not get paid BAS/BAH unless they are an E5 or above. It might even be E6 and above, somebody correct me. Submariners at least get to sleep in barracks Lol.

My daughter has hooked into whatever home schoolers have down where she lives in SE Neb. I know several home schoolers and my daughters went to high school with some girls who were home schooled up to 8th grade. So many pluses. My husband was not a supporter so alas I did not. :^(

Comment by NavyMomLG on August 21, 2012 at 2:20pm: Now that I am getting near the end of Prototype, and seeing the discussion about housing in BS, it occurs to me that I don't know what the housing situation is when they get assigned to their permanent station. Does it depend on the location? Is it on-base again or do they have to find their own housing like BS?

J's Mom if your son is really interested in finding a roommate my son could probably upgrade to a 2 bedroom. Son is not really a party animal unless he has changed.

They have to live off base during prototype. During A School and Power School they live on base.
