While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by WATTCO1957 Ship 12 Div 083 on January 23, 2012 at 11:45pm: Connie foaling-lady (Grad Hold), I love Picasa. when I was getting ready to get a new phone, I e-mailed all of the pictures on by Blackberry to my e-mail and then opened them up in Picasa. I love all of the options available in Picasa, especially for color hues and unique cropping ability.

Comment by Michimom (MM Nuke Mom) on January 23, 2012 at 8:42pm: CindyLou, I could say what you said: I missed my son's A school grad, too. He was math honorman. I'm just so thankful for N4M because I got some pix taken for me! :) We did make power school grad and it was great.

My son went to the Patriots game yesterday. He was in heaven! He has been a huge Pats fan for years, so he grabbed at the chance to go to yesterday's game with a few buddies. Had nice seats: sat in the end zone and the ball from the last Ravens kick ended up four rows in front of him. He figured he might never have another chance to go to a Pats game, so this was it. We watched the game on TV, but never saw him in the crowd. :( Oh, well. Nice to know we were all watching the game at the same time.

I just downloaded it, and see that it has not retrieved photos taken by my son and his gf on their Blackberries ... there are some great ones of Charleston (the Angel Oak, Battleships, etc) and I would like to get them printed (for my old-fashioned scrapbook, what can I say, I'M old-fashioned!) ... any tips on how to get those pics in the Picasa file?

I was very fortunate that a couple other N4M friends took some great pics for me and I was able to download them. Not quite the same as being there, but it sure made me feel a little better. Maybe you can ask another mom in your son's class to take some pics for you. I know how proud you are and would be even if he was at the bottom of his class. A pic is the next best thing to being there.

Comment by Cleaver6 on January 23, 2012 at 7:44am: My son is fresh out of boot camp, having arrived at GC on 1/14 along with 11 or 12 other baby nukes from his division. He's now waiting to class up for A school (ET). He said they told him it might be a couple of weeks as there are about 150 sailors waiting for that.

He might be getting spoiled by those grueling 3-hour days.

Hi, I honestly doubt our sons know each other. My son was removed from the Nuke program in June. He is on the ship as one of the Culinary staff. Yes, you have read this correct. Long story, but he is doing his job and working his hinny each and every day. I last heard from our son a few days ago. His wife, Kels usually hears from him every night and most mornings. Last nights E-mail he shared about Leon Panetta being on board and talking to everyone. He spoke pretty much what they already knew. So, nothing in regards to what may or may not be.going on. We wait and see when we get word. We were looking forward to seeing him in March, though if they are indeed out now.......well, they are in the Navy and prepared to do their jobs where they are needed. All Sailors are ready if that is what is happening. Nevertheless, prayers are appreciated.

I haven't heard anything new. I got an email last week, Wed. I think. No news from him since but I know he is busy get sign. being a new "nuke" and all. Nathan said the new guys hang out and study together so maybe our sons know each other.

I talked to Sarge and he said they will leave early Saturday morning to go to the airport and stay there until their flight no matter what time their flight will be.
