Happy Thursday, all!  I have been away waaaay toooo long!  Missed you all, and you all have been so busy I think there is no hope for me to catch up.  Oh, well.

My sailor is leaving GC tomorrow for BS, just in time for a cold, snowy winter.  He says he's happy about it--time for a change.  Yeah, after a whopping whole year in GC.  ;)  Now I gotta figure out what to get him for Christmas.  Not easy, and no help from him.

So great that some of you got to meet up in GC.  It's so nice to put faces to the names and chat in person, huh?

My husband refers to me as the eternal optimist and himself as the eternal pessimist.  I am a firm believer of   "What you believe is what you recieve"  Always, always, always expect the BEST !  Believe God for the BEST !  Someone once told me when we are believing positively, we cant be thinking negatively, but it can just as easily be turned around.  If we are professing negatives, we can't be believing for the positive in our lives.  The devil is always shooting us with his firey darts, and we need to kick back with positive believing. Sooo...that is my thoughts on the topic, and I will continue to pray for all my wonderful fellow Navy Moms and for God to be blessing them with the desire of their hearts.

Bandito's...love those thoughts, the list, and ideas.

Binker, Prayers have continued for the group in BS and for God to heal their hearts.  And for you and all the support you have been to them.

Connie, you and family are in my prayers and thoughts.

Tina....We were only home an hour and I was thinking... I wonder what it would be like to live in the south for the winter and north for summer ???

MN Mom~ It was nice to actually meet you too. My son was so glad we brought our San Diego weather with us to GC. Fri and Sat could not have been nicer. It is cold here now. Mid 60's in the day and almost freezing at night....I love San Diego

9 days and 4 of them with our sailor, PRICELESS !  Being at the NNPTC Power School graduation ceremony...awesome !   Wonderful to meet 2 fellow NUKE moms, Penny and Monica and their sailors.  Lisa, so great to see you.  Now we are home, in cold, snowy, MN. (I thought of you Dor when we passed through IA and IL)  Not sure how many pages I may have to catch up on, but  wanted to let  you all know it was a great trip.  Anyone having questions about the Villa's, send me a message.  Our stay there in a 3 bdrm unit was very pleasant.

Bandito's mom - I know what you're talking about, except I take the "lazy" way...I have a "visualization board." On it I have pictures of my desires (i.e., a picture of me when I was thinner, a picture of a couple kissing on the beach, a picture of a $1,000,000 check) and every day I look at it and work on the feelings behind each pic--how I would feel to be "that size", how it would feel to be in love (again), etc. Got all of this from "The Secret"...I'm not going to go into any kind of proselitzing about it--that's not my style--but it has worked in some areas of my life. I have to keep focusing on that it WILL work in all areas of my life and not let any negatives in...no, not perfect in that regard but A LOT better than I used to be.  :)  Besides, working on thinking positively has a much better effect on my blood pressure and headaches.

Thanks Lisa...that's great! Several years ago I got a "personalized" gift card for him from Borders...it was a pic of him (freshman year high school) and our [then] kitten taking a nap together on the love seat...he STILL carries it in his wallet.
