While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by William in Nashua on August 4, 2011 at 10:21am: My son called last night he passed his last test of A school before his comps the killer final unit of ET school called ICE he got 'only' a 3.45 Lol. Not low enough to drag down his GPA he said. Comps are on Monday. Chief says the whole class is put on 15-2 mando hours this week whereas he has been on 0-0 vols or 10-0's the whole six months. Chief told him to sew the crows on his uniform already yay! That is a nice vote of confidence.

It turns out he already lost his brand new Droid Incredible 2 phone I bought for him in Goose Creek 2 months ago what a chowderhead Lol. Good thing I have the insurance coverage but I will make him pay the $99 deductible it is a good lesson. He let it stay lost 2 weeks he assumed it was in a buddy's car safe and sound. Well you know what they say about the word "assume" oops maybe I left it in that restaurant ... not in the car.

Graduation is at 7 in the morning next Friday then he will be home for 10 days. This time he bought airline tickets early and the fare was only $345 instead of $600 like last time when he waited until 3 days before liberty. Another valuable life lesson for the lad.

Not sure how she does it, but her closet is overflowing and I hardly buy her a thing. I always help her pick out a small "thank you" gift for the friends.

So hoppy for you Dor! What a relief to have him closer to you.

Tried on EVERYTHING and what didn't fit, or I didn't think looked good, or I hadn't worn in a year+ was thrown into a basket. A heaping basket of clothes, a nearly empty closet, and a few hours later I was done. This morning my neighbor girl came over and looked through it all. She was so excited to get hand me downs from someone because she doesn't have any older siblings. She walked out with a whole new wardrobe! haha. Now it's off to shopping for me. I have a whole long list of dorm stuff to get and a lot of clothes to replace. ;) Have a great day, moms! :)

Let her know that you're there to talk if she needs someone. Sometimes we just need someone to vent to, especially someone who remotely understands.

Comment by Bandito's Mom on August 3, 2011 at 10:58pm: Sorry to change the subject back to sadder things. But, I just need to know how to handle things. Last night, i cried my heart out about Matthew Bergman and was still teary and worried this morning. I have a young lady working for me who's husband is a Marine deployed in Afghanistan. She got a call from her husband this morning and because circumstances allowed it, she asked him to call back again during her lunch. I asked her, how does she handle the worry and then told her about Matthew's father's tribute. I didn't know if I should have, we both got teary eyed but agreed that she was ok because she just spoke to her husband. But when he called back, he asked her to pray for him and his men because it is no longer quiet where he is and there have been shots fired. I just felt awful! I swear, I don't know how she has the strength. And I worry that I say the wrong thing. I don't know how to give her the support she needs when I still don't know how to get past my own worries about my son. Yet, I hope that she will be my rock later on. Sometimes I think, nothing to worry about since he is going to be a Nuke and in the hull the whole time. I told my son the story, also that I was proud of him tonight and I support him. Got a hug from him on the way out the door. That helped a little bit. Thank you ladies for being here.
