What is this with all the nukes wanting to get married?  My sailor, who was going to wait until he was done with school, called to tell me he's planning a November 2012 wedding.  Guess it's good it's not this year -- more time to realize what they're getting into (I hope)!

Had a wonderful week with my son.  Started out shakey as his plane had mechanical problems in Charleston and he missed his connection in Chicago; ended up getting in a day late.  Rather than take the room United offer to comp for him, he went to the USO.  (He was worried about not making it back to the OHare).  Anyway, it was the night the recruits were lined up waiting for the bus to boot camp.  He said the year has been so full...they looked so young (even the older ones).

Wow, he has come a long way.  Sending him off was bittersweet; don't know when we'll get to see him again.

Nancy-Prayers for your son and his future.  I hope all works well for him; we enjoyed meeting both of you!

Sharon~I am a punch fanatic!  Please let me know of any punches or stamps you might be letting go!!

Nice to catch up with all...love the bumper sticker storries  :)

Hi  all you wonderful Ladies with Nuke sailors.   I am reading on July 11 entries.  Currently I am care giver for my sister who had back surgery (4 vertebra fusion in 8+hour surgery) plus the computer was giving me a message on a blue screen so I took it in.  Bad news is I have not had my fix of Nuke Moms since 7/10 :(  Good news is the tech could find no real problem with the computer and will only charge me $37.50 for a little clean up, and my sister is healing well and doing good.  She can not bend, reach, or stretch yet so I will be here as chief cook and bottle washer till her daughter comes on Fri.  AND I have access  to her computer.  Whoo Hoo

On the note of stains. Heard a woman at a garage sale say she used dishwasher(I think powder) cleaner.(sorry I don't have one so not sure on terms) She made a paste and let it sit on stained baby bibs and onsies to take stains out.  That may work for arm pits too.

Thanks, Sharon. Who knows? Might be the best thing he'll ever do!

I heard back for the LCDR this morning!! He has passed my information along and will let me know when he hears something. Prayers that things will work out for the best in favor of Diego!! Not sure how things will go, but prayers that they will go for Diego and he gets what he needs at this point. A healthy body and a better job!!!

Emily, glad you are home and had a wonderful time. To have met Penny & her dog, too cool!! Hope the time goes quickly so you can be with Aaron for a bit. How exciting, I want to do back to GC!! Kelsey is there and Diego is now in Ft. Lee, Va. He was placed on *hold* due to the class being full. He was told he would start yesteray, but I am not believing anything anymore until I see it first!!!

Sherri, Yes, I have been talking "Cake Pops" I haven't been doing any due to our move and still unpacking the zillion boxes of stuff we own. I can't believe we have as much as we do!! Garage sale time and a friend told me about yardsellr on fb, so I may end up selling some stuff on that. I have many rubber stamps, paper, punches, and so much that I may not get back into. Plus, so much from the K's that they don't need anymore and they don't want to take it anywhere with them. Anyway, going to selling plenty, donating more and throwing away probably even more! lol

Nancy, hope things work out for your son and new wife. Doesn't sound like he wants to wait. Sorry.

MamaC, that is too funny about the stickers. I have a personal license plate and it reads, 3NAVY, due to all three entering into the Navy at some point. I haven't placed a new sticker on my window yet. Have to wash it first, lol

I wish my son would listen to words of wisdom.  He is getting married next wk in GC.  He's on grad hold, graduated PS in June, and has no clue when anything will happen but they want to be married.  She isn't even going to live with him until a few months pass and they can figure it all out.  I'm pretty apprehensive.  It's just crazy.  It will be a JP with no family at all. Anyway, a few prayers would be most welcome.  She flies out to GC on Sunday.

Sherri best of luck to your son it might not be a bad idea for him to find out what his next assignment orders are first before rushing home to marry his girlfriend though. Suppose the Navy were to station him to a place like Guantanamo Bay that does not let him bring a wife along. Look before you leap and that is a big leap Lol.

HI MOMS! :) I'm home... and yes, it is almost 4 am here. I unpacked everything and got organized... now I'm uploading pictures. I'm a dedicated fiance trying to stay up until Aaron wakes up so we can actually talk for.. well a few minutes today (yesterday, I've lost track of time).

Missa M- Aaron was in Power School last year for thanksgiving. He was only 2 weeks in. They got out early on Wednesday and didn't have to report back until Monday. :)

Kat- I hope you enjoy your weekend!

Sherri- I'm sure everything will work out for your son and Sarah. I can tell she's crazy about him. :)

Dor- I heard this song on the radio the other day... and I thought of you! It was something about the family not liking the girl and them being glad the guy finally came to his senses and left him... If I ever remember the name of that silly song, I'm going to post it for you. :)

I got to meet up with Penny today! She picked my mom and I up at the airport (afer we dropped off the rental car) and we went out to lunch. (Which was the only meal I got to eat all day... grrr for quick layovers). I'm so glad we finally got to meet up. And her dog is ADORABLE! haha. :)

Marybeth- I never saw your son... I had my eye out for that nametape!!

I had a great trip! We saw so many awesome things. I even got to meet up with a Nuke wife that I met on here and introduced to my sister in law... and they now hang out a lot. Actually, she hung out with us the whole weekend. It was tons of fun! :)
Now I have to work for 9 days before heading to Charleston! :)

Thank you mn Linda. If there are currently only three Power School classes in session my son would be in the 1105 class graduating 12/9. My son did tell me he graduates in December. He didn't want me to make reservations, just in case something happens. I will make sure I can change my reservations should something change.
