Well, to chime in, I had a guy pull up next to me in traffic the other day and motioned for me to roll my window down.  He asked me where I got my Navy sticker in my window - I told him at the Navy Recruiter's office.  Before I knew it, I said that I could get him one......how silly!  I don't know the man or know where he lives!  We both laughed - he said his son was in the Navy, but by that time the light changed and off we went!  I chuckled most of the day.

Marybeth, now you're just toying with my emotions. Sounds like a great time, wish I could go.

elizabeth, we usually go to Bodega Bay beaches, our favorite is Goat Rock beach. My favorite place on the coast is Ft. Bragg, but it's a way longer drive so not a good day tripper. I love the casual, colorful, artsy flavor of the town (vs. Mendocino, not as big a fan), and we love MacKerricher State Park up there, it has a beautiful beach and campground.

Sharon,

BTW...figured out again last week, that you and I have been talking about Cake pops..right????

Comment by Sherri_M on July 18, 2011 at 10:31pm

Sharon...so, they sent him over there cause school was starting, and his wife stayed at GC, right?  and now...he's on hold?? haha...man..that poor kid!!  When does the wife get to go with him??  How's he like it there so far...I know been like a day, but whats the impression??

Michael turned in most of his PW today, he goes in tomorrow to well, I don't know where, or what the official name is..but the people who will tell him what's out there... however, they will only start the process...said it could take 2-4 weeks before he hears anything for sure...so, he gets to sit there and get paid, and is pretty much doing nothing....has had 1 three hour watch in the last week.  He's catching up on sleep...

Was told today though, that as soon as he can, he's coming home on leave...he's talking to them tomorrow to see if he can come home, even if for a weekend--so he can get married.  Yep, they getting married ASAP...so, not sure how I feel about it.  A tad nervous, but I guess it'll all work out.  He said he wants to get married, so he can go ahead and do all the PW and take her with him when he goes...you know have housing and all.  I don't know if/when they will let him come, will let you all know.  Would def like to see him though!!!

Sharon, Kat and I want to take a trip to Vegas, you in??  hahah..wouldn't that be fun, for a couple days?  Anyone else up for it??  Of course, a beach would be good too, but hotels at a beach right now...well, kinda expensive.
