Enjoy your trip to your dream state, Kat - don't forget to come back! lol. My son has a layover in Phoenix tonight on his way back to GC, I told him whatever you do, don't go outside! Weather channel predicts it will be 95 degrees still at midnight! Ugh.

Has anyone else's sailor ever been stopped & searched in security? Mine set off the alarm, and they spent the next 10 minutes questioning him, and did the full pat down! In uniform! He took it in stride with good humor, but momma was a little inflamed...

Today in Dallas was the 17th day of over 100 degree heat in a row! It's HOT!  Infomercials... my MIL bought us many things over the years, probably my favorite things that I have kept and still are a mini-spatula and a gensu knife for cutting loaves of bread. Anything that was mechanical did not last with my "boys", they enjoyed taking all that stuff apart and for some reason it didn't go back together correctly. It's a good thing my Sailor learned how to work on computers since he is studying to be ET! He is successful in building them from scratch and they keep on working!

Well, he's gone again. We had a wonderful visit. Back to reality.

I'm so tired of the heat this summer...whew. My son is home on leave this week. I told him he should have left those Charleston temperatures there...lol.

Thanks Sherri.  Looking forward to the trip to Colorado.  I sent you a message on facebook.  It was 111 in Phoenix today.  Humidity is rolling back in with the clouds, but I know it won't even compare to your humidity and other places around the country.

Kat, have a great time this week!  Can't wait to hear all about it!  Hope your son is doing ok as well!

Hot here in TN, and has been for the last like 3 weeks....been right at about 100, with ridiculous humidty!  I can't go from the house to the car without profusely sweating!!  I told Kat, it's supposed to be that hot in Phoenix, and it's not nearly as muggy there!  If it's going to be this hot, I'd just as soon be someplace like that where you know it's supposed to be hot!!!

Should hear something this week as well on Michael.  He's in the process of processing out of the Nuke program.  Will take about 2-3 days to complete the process.

Sorry. Not an info-mercial person.  Don't even have television right now.

missa_m -  I don't know about Power school, but my son was in A school last Thanksgiving and he did have a 4 day weekend.  I bet they will because the instructors like to take the long weekends too, BUT he could always have watch during that time.

Sounds like a great day Andi! I was pretty much a slug all day. Had four ball games yesterday in the season-end tournament, so I that usually wipes me out for the rest of the weekend. Wish I had one more day off!

I had a crazy long but fun day. Left my condo in Myrtle at 6am and drove to Charleston to play golf with my bf and his family. His dad and step mom and step sister we in this weekend. Lot of fun, but very long day. The round took forever!! Tried to get on the AFB course but it was 100% military only ID check so it was going to be a hassle to get visitor passes for us civilians so we went to the navy course instead. the navy course is pretty cheap and really short and fun for anyone who likes to golf but bf says the AFB course is really REALLY nice. It def got up in the 100s (and if it didnt it should have and I have the sunburn to prove it!!) Got back home at 6pm right as my mom, aunts and g-ma were just getting into Myrtle and had a nice dinner with them!! They are here on vaca all week to get away and to see my sister and me. Certainly going to be a good week hope everyone else has a great week too!
