elizabeth, right on! I don't pipe up real often but I keep close watch on what everyone has to offer.  I'm feeling so sad. With the navy there are always good-byes and see you whenever, but here it doesn't matter where we are or what we might be doing.  We stick together.

It's anyone's private choice what they want to do, but please know that when someone leaves, an empty space is left behind. Hate to see you go, but God bless and Godspeed if that is the case.

Ditto to what nvmomma said, too.  I feel kinda funny just piggy backing on what you two have said but the feeling mimic mine exactly.  THis group started as NUKE moms...but come on it's got Mark and William in it and they are not Moms and Emily and Amanda are not Moms so why does all of us have to be NUKEs too?  It's how we started out but now how we have to stay.  We just have to stay connected so we can share the stories to support eachother.  There are sooo many different stories!!!!

Emily, it doesn't seem possible Aaron is already in week 9 of Proto .... but then again, John is already into his third week of Power and having his 2nd big test today.  Praying everything came to mind and he did well on this one too.

Nvmomma - couldn't agree with you more.  These ladies need our support and hope they will stay around for us to hear good things about their sailors - at the same time, enjoy receiving their support as we find ourselves needing it as well along the way.

I'm with nvmomma. Very well said. :)

Aaron's in week 9 of Prototype and I'm still holding my breath. No one is safe until after those final boards!

Comment by nvmomma on July 13, 2011 at 2:56pm
Just gonna say this: no matter what level of confidence we each have in our sailors, I think we are all holding our breath at least a little that they make it through. Anything can happen along the way to make things turn from good to bad: illness, injury, a bad test, any kind of personal struggle can derail their progress at any point. I have already known several whose Navy plans have been altered, some by circumstances out of their control, some by choices they've made. Although I have complete confidence in my son's ability to finish the course, I am not going to relax until it is in hand. We need each other to make it through the tough moments. Sharon, Sherri, and anyone else, I totally understand if you feel you want/need to leave the group, but you have become part of our family, we will miss you terribly if you do. Please don't feel you have to leave because the title has changed; relationships have been made, and we have an interest in seeing you and your sailor through into the future, no matter what. That's just how I feel...

Connie foaling-lady (MM1104/6) I have sandy colored Corian in my kitchen and love it. They will give you a scrubbing pad according to the finish you choose. I have a mat finish, not the high gloss, and whenever I get a scratch, I just get my scrubby out and polish it away. Ten years old and still looks new! FYI, my Aunt and Uncle had one of the first test bathrooms made in 1960! Counters still look great, he needs to re-grout the joints and caulk, but, most people are shocked that it is that old!  Also, I have my stainless steel sink which I will never change out.

Sharon, you absolutely don't have to say bye. Guess what, even though you may not think you have anything to offer now - we have plenty to offer you.... support, sounding boards, advice. You don't always have to be giving, and what a great place for support with people who can truly understand the situation you are in!

Mary, I can tell you that it is not muscle. My son has played sports for many years and he knows what a "pulled muscle" feels like. He played the entire football season in his senior year with a pulled groing muscle, so if he is saying his back and leg hurt and has numbness, it is not muscle. He has done the ice route, the pain med route, the muscle relaxer route, still has pain and numbness. What he needs is an MRI to see if there is a pinched nerve before it any damage is done. Can't see it on X-rays. I am having the same type of back issues on my left side and I can tell you it is not muscle either.

I am glad massages have helped those that need them, in this case, don't think it will help. Having Fibromyalgia, I don't go for massages as it puts me in a flare. I would love to have one though, I don't do chiro treatments either due to the fibro. I can understand why many don't want to report it, makes sense. For my son though, he needs to have this diagnosed and treated properly and it is not.

Thanks nv, appreciate it!

I am sounding like a broken record, it may just be best if I say bye to this group. I don't have anything to offer anymore. I do appreciate all the thoughts, prayers, suggestions, and friendships that I have made. It is hard to move on, but this may be the time that is right to do so. Best of luck to each of you and your children!!! God Speed!! Bravo Zulu!!!!!!

William, re: my son's A School, 21 started, 16 graduated. 1 rolled back, 2 rerated, 2 dropped.

Moliana, I hope your sailor feels better soon. I haven't talked on the phone with my son since he arrived at GC. We communicate through texting, FB & Skype. Those methods seem to work fine in the rooms.

Sherri & Sharon, not giving up. Prayers continue.
