Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by Maddie on May 23, 2011 at 5:54pm: Quiltblue, if your daughter's HTC is fine, then they must fixed the battery issues with the new upgrade. That's good news!!! I'm afraid I'm kinda stuck with what I have for now as the only other option I was given was to buy a different battery which is another $55 or so. The problem actually lies with the first model; I googled it once upon a time and seems like everyone has the same complaint. But I love Verizon either way :-)

Comment by quiltblue on May 23, 2011 at 5:05pm: Maddie, ask Verizon for a new battery for your HTC, it might be a defective battery only and not the phone. My daughter just got the new one and isn't having any problems with it. My son the sailor has the Voyager (me too) and he can't talk on that phone in his BEQ, but the texting works.... so we just text him to turn on Skype and then we call him on that!

I have two orders to do this week and one for next week. I just bought "Cake Pops" by Bakerella today and for next week's order I will be doing the "Apples" as it will be for a teacher!! Prayers they turn out as well as hers!

Comment by Maddie on May 23, 2011 at 4:20pm: I don't care much for AT&T so altho' I have been aching to get an iPhone forever, I held off. Verizon now carries it, of course, but my HTC Incredible is not due for an upgrade for another year. Unfortunately, the HTC is not as incredible as it sounds; my main complaint is the poor battery charge. I have pretty much disabled many of the apps and the charge still doesn't last over a day...or half...or even less. Try finding your way around Chicago when your map links die on you. Like why bother with a smart phone if you can't use the other apps, right? I liked my old Blackberry much better than this one. I hope they improved the battery life with this new model.

The phone was release just a few weeks ago by Verizon so it is their newest smart phone. It is better than my Droid X. I was surprised the phone worked OK in his room. We are at the Atlanta airport waiting for Boston flight now.

My son has a Blackberry Bold (he got it because that's the same model his girlfriend has) and we're due for an upgrade on 3 of the phones on our Verizon family plan, so now would be a good time to upgrade our son since he gets poor reception in his room .... my husband and I always get the free cheapie phones but maybe I could take my son's Blackberry! That way I could feel wayyy important, talking on my cell phone while I'm ankle-deep in horse doody or mud.
