I too have never heard of a cake ball. I was kind of weirded out in the beginning because I teach high school kids and have learned to seek a sexual or drug related connotation for every new term I am exposed to before attempting to appear hip by using it!

Dianna, you are not the first friend here during the last year to experience this side of the nuke program. my son's good friend and bc buddy went through it and just left for Japan and his new job yesterday. He is much happier. He is a facebook friend and told me it was the best thing to happen to him. I'm sure your son will say the same one of these days.

Emily--I drive up 71 every time I head home from Ky to home in NY. Bink and co are coming to Louisville over Memorial day wkend but maybe I'll have to stop my 12 hour non stop drive with a stopover on one of the upcoming trips! hugs little friend!

I'm all up for having my vacuum field dressed and  all the laundry and various disfunctional paraphanelia sterilized. Please send all unused mothers/grandmothers to Elmira NY since I am cleaning-disabled and my husband has been living with the girl child and 2 boys for the last five years while I waited for the damn house here to sell. I dont know how to deal with the crud in the corners and under all covered surfaces!

Power school grad--T35 days and counting! Then hopefully both will head to Ballston Spa where I can visit after a swift train ride--provided I find a job up north!

OK ladies--Where do you get all your energy to do all that remodeling, weddings, cleaning, working...Are you sucking down energy drinks or are you getting all your power from those Cake Balls?

If so, maybe I should be the Cake Ball Judge--I'm in the middle--here in Missouri!

Comment by swim4life on May 15, 2011 at 8:25am

true confession....I am a cake ball virgin.

nope, never had one!  (we don't get out much)  But I'm ready to give them a try.  I went to Bakerella and there were so many to choose from.  Any advice on an "easy" recipe to start with?  :)

elizabeth, your mother and I would get along famously. Since my compulsive streak probably contributed to the breakup of my first marriage, I keep it under control, so no one is driven crazy by my idiosyncrasies. I get a thrill out of looking at all my plastic containers of legos sorted according to size and color. Unfortunately, my garage is a mess but we are a happy family. P.S. Don't forget I don't live that far from you if your mother is tired of cleaning your house - just send her to mine.

I could be the cake ball judge in the Rocky Mtn quadrant...I will need at  least 6 from each contestant.  LOL

I am looking forward to seeing this!  If I get a day off in the next 2 weeks I will not only try make but also to post a picture :>)

Good distraction from the upcoming comps and trip.  Jeanne, nothing torn apart right now so I need a distraction.  Thinking of redoing the kitchen but worried about the lack of water HAHAHA.  I'm thinking of you, praying for you, and feeling your pain.

Okay, I'm in for trying the cake ball challenge.  Only made them one time in my life so I'll go for two!!!  lol  Why not.

(((((Diana)))))  Hugs and Prayers for you, your sailor, and your family.  May God be comforting your hearts and giving you peace, as he wraps his loving arms around you.

Prayers Diana! I have only heard good stories from those who did not make it through the Nuke program. I wish you and your sailor the same.

Kat- that is such a cute bird. Looks like "Scout" that my mom's coworker/friend would bring into work. They are such fun birds!

had to share this photo of our cats checking out the new little bird that I found in our front yard this week.  Poor bird.  He must really feel like he's dinner.
