Amanda- You just made my day with the Ginger Ale comment. :)

Julie- I think most colleges have their spring break in March... Except for Christian schools.. We have two Catholic schools around here and they have break over Easter. Everyone else has it in March. Plane tickets have definitely reflected that too.. I'm assuming your son is in GC? I feel like you said it before, but I don't remember :/

It's terrible when they know they're in trouble, worse when they have to wait all weekend to find out. My fiance missed watch once and called his commanding officer and told him right away the next morning (better than a phone call on midnight) but then had to wait all weekend. He was so paranoid that he'd get sent to mast or something. Nope, monday morning, someone brought him Ginger Ale (his favorite) and told my fiance he was in a good mood so he only had midnight watch for a week. If your son's desperate, maybe tell him to bring his SLPO Ginger Ale in hopes its the same guy?

I know Elizabeth.  I hate hearing that stuff too.  You know, my son had a pretty tough week too.  I didn't hear from him at all last weekend and finally he let me know on Wed. afternoon that his camo uniforms somehow got ruined in the wash and he spend Wed. buying new uniforms, getting them tailored, patches sewn on, now he's almost broke, plus his wireless router went out and heaven forbid he should wait until tonight or tomorrow to go get a new one.  Nope, had to head to Best Buy in the middle of everything, when he shoudl have been studying. Plus he had to get a hair cut, get his dress uniform dry cleaned for inspection today, had the big phase up PFA yesterday (passed so now he doesn't have a curfew), then the big academic test today (got a 3.25 on it, whew), and I haven't heard if he passed inspection.  I still don't know what happened that his uniforms were ruined.  That would have been in their washing machines and dryers in their dorms.  I'm sure that cost a pretty penny to replace them.   Just can't imagine what got them that bad that they all had to be replaced.

Anyway, I've been dying to talk to him and he just ignores my facebook messages and texts.  Hopefully he'll call tomorrow or I may have to fly over there and kick his butt. lol.

I'm rereading my posts and seeing all the typos and mispelled words and realizing I'm getting tired, too.  Bedtime.  Good night.

Oh Kat, my son did that all last week.  It drove me nuts.  His phone was off and he was not communicating.  I even had this quick thiought, what if he was the missing room mate.  He only does quick, very quick communicating with me.  That's why tonight it was such a warm feeling to hear from him.  THne I immediately felt guilty thinkking of the sailor's family.

My son had a tough week at school.  I talk to him breifly the other day.  He had gotten a test back that he worked hard on and only got a 3.0.  I told him I thought that was a totally acceptable score.(Last year if would have been more than fine with it.)  He said the problem was he went in early to study and forgot he had a doctor's appointment for some type of physical.  He said now he knows he is going to get in trouble.  He still does not know what that trouble is.  He says he will probably find out on Monday.  I hate hearing that kind of stuff.  But of course that's what this guy needed.
