Shanermansmom...so happy you have a class number and date now!  You are always welcome to hang out with the NEW NUKES group, or maybe start your own discussion so that maybe some other moms can find you???

Dor, glad you're back safely, and good luck with the new job.  And, elizabeth77, sorry your son is down.  Hope he adjusts quickly to the new assignment...

Marybeth - more details please.  What is the Florida trip all about? when, where, how much?  I know a little from what you have said before, but would love more info.  I might have to get involved, if I can afford to.  I need an adventure and a mission.

Need some info people.  My son called and he is down in the dumps.  More so than I have heard him.  They got their jobs for grad hold after power school. They graduate June 17th.  His is at Patriot's Point.  He is not happy.  He put in to go to school and did not get that.  He's OK with that.  Said only 40 people out of the whole 12 classes got it so he can see his chances were slim.  Then he put in for some night watch thing where you work one of three days.  He said he didn't get that but got the job where you work all five days a week 30 minutes from base and you pay for your own gas/transportation.  Now remember this is the guy that never has any money. I guess that's better than giving that job to a married man or woman.  He also thinks it's mostly grub work but I am wondering if anyone here knows the scoop?  He may just be crying in his beer. He really wanted school.  What do you know?

Fool Me Once:  try Wingate Inn on University Dr.  When we prepaid we got a great discount. We stayed 3 nights at 20% off.  If you can get into the Foster Creek Villas, they are great.

Can anyone give me a recommendation on a place to stay near Goose Creek?  I wanted to come the weekend of the 4th to celebrate my son's birthday with him (#21!)
