Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

I'm a happy mama! Love the "Secret Club" and hope someday I could use that hand shake as it will mean I've met one of you. I loved meeting those from PIR group.

Comment by amanda on April 9, 2011 at 2:36pm: Mark- I believe they're trying to revamp the psychological testing. With the recent Fort Hood shooting and other like events. Unfortunately, just like everything else in our government, it takes FOREVER to get anything started. I've been kind of paying attention to that lately because it's what I want my career to be (well, helping the families at least). If you go on the usajobs.gov site, there are literally hundreds of openings for counselors, psychologists, therapists, etc. and with super competitive pay and benefits.

I have the group set as "secret" So if you search it, you can't find it. If you'd like to be apart of it, you can PM your name, I'll add you on Facebook as a friend, and then add you to the group... That's the only way we can do it and still keep everyone's identites secret to everyone but us.

It is also my son's 20th birthday!! No more teenagers for me. A milestone that's sad and happy too.

My son posted on FB that he ran into a high school buddy of his and his family in Charleston yesterday. I'm FB friends with the mom (we marching band families get to know each other really well!), and she posted, too. Ran into him on Market Street. She said: "He really likes the Navy, looks very fit." Love it.
