Jeanne - my son has just been in Groton since January, on a fast attack. He has been out on a 5 day/3 week/8 week and is currently out on an "underway". He was looking forward to some shore time, but has been disappointed. On the last one - 8 weeks - they did get two days in port after 46 days out. Hopefully, he will get to see more in the future.

Good morning all~
Congratulations to all who are passing test and heading out to fleet.
It must be a huge relief. :)) Can't wait!
Ed was also a 900 div., not grad and go, and his BC was longer than average.
Have a great day.:)

2 days!? That's ridiculous!! We have to take semester exams no matter what our grade or attendance is.. I'm more than ready to get out of high school! haha.

But tell "little brother" that it really is the chance of a lifetime. When the divisions march in, it's priceless. And my favorite part is always when all of the divisions sing, "Anchors Aweigh" Although... The Marines seemed much louder at their boot grad while singing the "Marines Hymn" :)

Mary - can't please everybody all the time. We finally came up with a plan at our house. Get kids together or on phone, say here's the plan: Dad and I are going to X on whateverday and will be back on nexteverday. The reservations can and will include you if you choose to go, I just need to know. PS this is important to ____ so it's time to determine which is more important to you and remember you don't get a second chance at this one. Sometimes it doesn't work out the way we want BUT the choice is someone else's and we just have to live with it. Why can't they just listen to us ALL of the time?

Jeanne- I know, right!? It was concert band... and I had a solo... but Graduation is a once in a lifetime thing. I wasn't missing it for anything :) I only had to take a letter grade drop because he's "only" my boyfriend. His brothers that missed competition didn't have a single penalty. UGH. Oh well. It's over now :) If only silly civilians knew what the military did for a relationship... :)

Denise - I think the info was that there were 2 at GC and 2 others at GL. One of them at GL was a female in A school for Corpsman. There was some discussion of it on the corpsman group.

Mary and Jeanne- Aaron's was only 7 weeks, too. That kind of caused a problem for me (state band competition weekend), but I said screw band and took the letter grade drop (don't worry I made it up on the final exam :) ). But anyways, he was pushed ahead to be in a 900 division. I think that's normally the only division they push recruits ahead to, but I could be wrong. His first letter to me was horribly depressing because he was behind and had to catch up on all the P-day activities when most of the other recruits in his division had already been there for 2 weeks.

On the flipside of that, my brother was put into a 900 division and was in P-days for much longer than a week.. I'm not for sure (I wasn't very interested in hearing about my brother 2 years ago), but I think he was there for a little over 9 weeks because they couldn't get enough recruits to fill the division.

As far as grad and go goes- I've never seen a 900 division grad and go.. that doesn't mean they never grad and go... But most of the grad and go's I've seen have been from the lower division numbers. :)

My sailor is doing T-Track while he waits to start power school. He says his mailing address has changed. Instead of his "A" school class number, I write "T-Track"

Judy, what do you mean by surfaced? Was he assigned an aircraft carrier or will he actually be on land? I understood that nukes were all assigned to either sub or aircraft carrier.
