For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Comment by Tulip on April 11, 2018 at 8:53am: Submit, our son had a truck (in his name) at GC and kept it registered in TN. He had since sold it and bought a new used car in SC and registered it in TN as well, since he will be in Washington on a sub.

Comment by JayDee659 on April 11, 2018 at 7:37am: SubMom, does your sailor have the car in GC? You should check with your insurance company to confirm their policy on kids living away from home. It may depend on the age of the driver and how long they will in their current location. I worked for a major insurer for 10 years and I would think that if the car is registered in your husbands name it should be fine to leave the policy as is, but there may be a time limit for this. My daughter did not have to register her car in SC and has left her registration in our home state. Once again, to be safe, check with your insurer directly.

The car is currently registered in my husband's name and we would like to keep it that way if possible. Can the car stay registered in our home state or does SC require registering in their state? Trying to save our sailor some hassle and money :)

NancyJo - safe travels for your sailor. I think mine will class up for Power School before yours is settled but he might still have him for some instruction.

Branson still sounds like a good choice for a get together, at least for those of us in the Midwest area.!

JayDee, I wish I could have gone to Prototype graduation!! Kicking myself. I am hoping we all organize a long weekend Nuke Navy Mom fly in somewhere. I like the Branson idea.
