For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

The back is feeling a little better today - thanks everyone for asking. I just can't lean to the right quickly or it spasms lol! But I think I'll be good to go by the wedding on Saturday.

There's definitely no right or wrong answer to the car situation (except that by prototype they will need one!).

Comment by Chipmunk on April 10, 2018 at 8:17am: Hammer - I stayed at Days Inn in GC. It is the closest motel to NNPTC, just up Red Bank Rd and I was happy with the rooms and breakfast. It is also a Wyndham property if you are using rewards.

Soccermom19 - I sent you a message.

Buzzbeck - I made sure to stand up (I was looking to see that the older couple we had meet at the motel had made it in), but figured I would make my appearance known. Didn't meet anyone from here, but some sitting near us were on FB.

B's - Hope your back is feeling better.

Freebird - they don't have to have a car till Prototype, but having a vehicle is useful due to their location.

Comment by Buzzbeck on April 10, 2018 at 1:23am: Mr Buzzbeck drove our sailor's car to him as early as possible while in A School. He's kind of a lone wolf and loved driving to the beach, buying a shrimp basket or fresh peanuts on the way, etc. A great way to unwind. It is an old beater. It was driven back home after prototype.

Chipmunk, your self description reminds me of what Mr Buzzbeck said 1 year ago at prototype graduation: "Wait, you want me to find 2 Navy moms in a crowd, called Jaycee and Kammom, wearing navy blue and white, huh?"

Mr Buzzbeck favorite place to stay was a Ladson KOA cabin. Clean, cheap, quiet.

B's nuke, hope your back pain goes away soon. Seems like helping someone move often results in a back spasm.

His plan is to buy "an old beater" before prototype that he can turn around and sell when he is done. Honestly, I don't think he would buy one then if it wasn't required.

Now with that being said, we are dealing with the state of Utah wanting us to have an emission test done. I contacted the DMV here in Utah and let them know that my son has the car in South Carolina and is NOT registering the car in SC. He maintained his Utah license and we maintained the registration in Utah as well. The car in NOT in my son's name, but he is using the car while in SC. We let the DMV know that the car was with our son who is only in SC for the military and school. They said we could apply for an temporary exemption. The problem is the state wants to know a date of when the car will be back in UTAH. We have no clue when the car or even IF the car will EVER be back in Utah. It is so frustrating.
