I sort of wonder how the storm is for the guys on the boat...

Hmmm. Do subs get struck by lightening? That's an awful lot of metal in water...

My sailor is standing watch in the rain tonight, how delightful. Looks like it might be letting up though. Guess he has to get used to water, he is after all in the NAVY...

Welcome to KAMMA! She's our 1500th Nuke Mom! And congrats to clarkedu! Good guess! :)
Edwina, I'll send you a message. :) Thanks for covering me, Colleen. :)

I do have family visiting this week. :) My sister is in town from Missouri with my niece and nephew. The things that come out of that 3 year old's mouth are HILARIOUS. She got to ride our cousin's horses tonight. She got on the pony and yelled: "Giddy up, Bullseye!" Toy Story is her favorite movie. :)

Cross-posting this from another group page, some of you might be familiar with my situation again but I figured more advice wouldn't hurt. Thanks!

My SR is currently in boot camp and we were hoping to get married the weekend after he arrives in Charleston for A-School (graduates 9/9, marriage 9/17). I just got a job down there so we can live together again, after living together for two years before Boot Camp. I currently have everything he owns.

I heard that if we get married AFTER he gets to A-School the Navy won't help us with move down there. Is that true? I don't want to marry during his PIR weekend because my mother won't be there and she'd never forgive me.

My new job won't pay for the move and my old job paid so poorly I haven't been able to save anything for this. I can't afford to stay in a hotel for months.

Any advice?

GulfCoastMom:  As of a week or so ago, according to my son, the rumor was that everyone was going to BC for prototype, but he didn't say anything about having to be out of his dorm anytime soon.  Maybe it's been confirmed by now about BS.  Guess we'll find out soon enough.  I do hope all goes well for Mary's son.

Got a text from my son yesterday.  He said he got his grad eval and he's a "promotable"--which is what everybody gets, I guess, "unless they're terrible or something.  For power school at least."  So funny.  Aaannnd:  he apparently had the best record for room and personnel inspections for his class.  :)  As my hubby said, what did the Navy do to our son?  Not this way at home!  Ha ha
