Jeanne, those summer stripes are indeed navy blue.

When I was in the barracks, my rack was always a regular twin. A long, long time ago, but still ...

I'm actually an Aunt Margaret, my neph dubbed me Anti M in a note and my friends started calling that too.

OK ladies - need some help. My son said he wanted some sheets for Christmas. He is in t-track and will start power school December 18. As of a couple days ago, he still had not moved into his single room. My question - are the beds regular twin beds or are they twin XL like most of the college dorms. Anyone out there know??? Thanks.

An ET is a Seaman or SN. EM and MM are both Fireman or FN. ETs have white seaman stripes, Ems and MMs have red fireman sripes. That changes to an eagle above their rating insignia and a red chevron when they advance to E-4.

Unmotivated? I dropped out of high school in my junior year. I still ended up in college and used those credits to get a high school diploma. I qualified for nuke, but knew my math and science weren't strong enough. Besides, at the time, women could only be instructors. So I went with "plain" ET. There''s something about the Navy training that makes some of us want to succeed at it no matter what.

My brother's memorial service is today; Jeremy has to be back at Goose Creek to start classes on Monday. He's doing alright considering he just lost his dad. Seems to love the Navy, the first thing we did when we got together was start talking sailor stuff.

He says the Master at Arms is in a different building, about 15 minutes away, but the first class hopped on his motorcycle and went to find him personally to tell him to call his mom. Sailors do take care of their own.

My son actually graduated early - he had all his requirements halfway through junior year, hung on through the beginning the last half of the school year senior year, called me one morning from school, and said I'm done, will you sign the paperwork. He came home that day, and was done. He was already signed up for Navy, and saw no point in being in high school anymore.

He has been studying has butt off at prototype, but with them going into a second delay, it is hard to retain what you have learned when you aren't allowed to put it to use. So he is having to take extra time to study and keep up on things so when they do get back up and running, he will hopefully do well. And he was bummed cuz they were suppose to take their section test yesterday, and they shut them down Tuesday, again, so now he has to wait.

Let me clarify - he said it WASN'T his MARF - it was the other. There are two there in NY I guess.

Well, I called Spence last night to find out how he did on his section test, because that was supposed to be yesterday. To find out they are on hold again! What to do!?!!?! LOL!!!!! He said it was his MARF (I believe that is it??) it was the other one, and it just something they gotta fix. They are saying two weeks, right around Christmas, is when they will be starting again. So, now back to waiting and wondering.

I wouldn't care so much, but we are scheduled as of right now to go on a cruise in April 09. He was supposed to graduate Feb. 20, but being shut down for 8 weeks, he said that graduation will be later than Feb. but not sure how much. So I have until the end of the year to 'safely' cancel the cruise and get my deposit back. Because I cannot justify going on a cruise when he is graduating, and coming home for leave before he reports to his location.

One of the factors in class standing is performance evaluations... being on time, completing tasks in a timely manner, keeping their uniform squared away, initiative and leadership skills and such. When I graduated from A school, I got first pick of orders even though I was second academically; I'd been a platoon (section) leader in the barracks and a class leader, edging out the guy who had slightly better grades. I don't think that has changed.

Anti - so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my prayers.
