For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

F received our care package of fragrant Hawaiian flowers, coconut, chocolate mac nuts, shortbread cookies, tropical caramel corn and sweet tarts with Valentines messages. We always send extra to share with shipmates that continue to be so very supportive of her. Thanks to those families who have raised such kind human beings! No one can do this alone.

I’ve really enjoyed all of the comments about Washington. Our son arrived this month and Is already making plans to go hiking. He’s totally enjoying the weather and the scenery. I’m ready to go visit but don’t think that will happen any time soon.

Comment by Chipmunk on January 30, 2020 at 11:40am: YES - it is unfortunate that we want to assume the worse, or be overly suspicious instead of trusting that sometimes people are actually telling the truth!! - I am a redhead, fair skinned, and on blood thinning medication. Even the doctors and nurses who had prescribed said medication, questioned me any time I came into the office with bruises on my body!

Comment by JayDee659 on January 30, 2020 at 10:51am: PacNWmom, you need to have a good story to tell people! Have you used Arnicare? It really helps reduce brusing, it was a life changer when I had a serious injury a couple years ago.

DannysDad, right after I got married (30+ years ago) I was walking across the living room, holding our tank vac. I tripped over the dog, hit the wall with my hand, all the force of the vacuum behind it. My right hand bruised up, front to back and I couldn't move the fingers. My husband (who was at my mom's when I did this) took me to an urgent care. When they took me back, they wouldn't allow my husband to come along. They then asked me repeatedly to tell them what "he" did to me and how often did this happen. OMG I was 20 and totally freaked out. They were getting ready to call the police, way too intense for me. Since then it's become a joke as I'm usually covered with bruises of unknown origin during ski season.
