While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Checking in from Wisconsin. My nuke has completed 4 years of his commitment. He decided almost 2 year ago to add another 2 to his already commitment of 6 year. He still enjoys navy life and is currently underway to a different port. He was in San Diego but his boat is now being moved to Norfolk. Bittersweet for him as he really loved San Diego. He is young and will adjust.
I don't share often but I appreciate and read all entries.
Today is rather melancholy as I think about the significance of this day and how all our lives have been changed forever. Never Forget!

Checking in from Massachusetts. My nuke has power school comps on October 1st. He called us yesterday to say that there would be no graduation because it got pushed out due to the hurricane and that made a change in command so there was no time for graduation. Prototype begins on either October 10th or 14th. He’s ready for the change.

partnerinwine - it's probable they're going to be in the same class. My sailor hasn't said when exactly they start back up. Our guy has had a few bumps in the road, so we don't plan on much lol. We'll have to keep each other posted : )

NEMmom - All the best to your sailor! My son is in Norfolk, VA as well. He is stationed with the USS Gerald R. Ford CVN - 78. Hoping for the best outcome for some time at home!

Just checking in as well. Our sailor finished prototype the end of August. He has orders for the USS Helena (fast attack sub) in Norfolk. His report date is 10/3. We've heard that date may change. We're anxiously waiting and keeping our fingers crossed that he gets to come home for a bit before heading to Norfolk.

Navymom18- my son is between A and Power school too! I wonder if they class up together? He's set to start back up early October. I think there is another mom here who also has a son between schools...

Checking in. My sailor is finally starting the journey with pay. He spent months and months in MEPS/DEP "volunteering" his time as a PO for Education- what every that is- and is at boot camp now and should be in Charleston in October.

Following orders and checking in! My daughter is an MMN2 on the GHWB CVN77, which is in for incremental availability. What a relief after last deployment. Woohoo! Nuke-in-Law is on the SSN Albany, getting ready to deploy in the near future :(
