Hi all - Happy Tuesday!

PattiP - oh you had me laughing picturing them enjoying their beers and getting them cold lol!  Sad about the sailors lost when the boat capsized.  I do remember the Incredible Mr. Limpett - I'll have to watch it again & pay attention now at the end!  That's pretty cool.

CoTwin - the only way I ever hope to start over is with grandkids lol!  Someday ~sigh~

Everyone needs to keep the communication lines open with their sailors - do your best to remind them that no matter what happens, it isn't the end of the world. Yes, my heart hurts for their family too :(

PattiP - Such a fabulous photo!

girl chief - I teach middle school English/Drama.  If she's interested in English, just make sure she LOVES to read essays!  It's time consuming, but I really do love the kids.

Co-TwinSalorsMom - How tragic about the Nuke who took his life.  Was he still in school?  Is there a place we can send cards?
I've had this talk with my son.  He said he signed up to serve his country.  If Nuke doesn't work out, he would serve in whatever way needed.
My heart hurts for the family who lost their beloved Sailor.

Fun visit to Charleston. I loved going there.

B'sNukeMom cute picture. Thinking of starting over??

Quiet Thanksgiving for you. I am driving back to Ouray to get the stuff out of storage and close out that part of my life.

I gamble like you do. Set what I will lose and when it is gone I am done. I have had winning times though also. Mostly losing though.

I heard today that a nuke sailor home on leave in Northern CA committed suicide. :(  so sad for his family. Wish these sailors could know that if they are struggling or fail that their families would not condemn them but be supportive and proud no mater what.

PacNWmom - BZ to your son on being accepted to the STA21 program - that's awesome!  Another mom on here, Rhonda, her son is in the STA21 program and he's at the University of AZ I believe.  Fingers crossed your son chooses a college close by you!

B'sNuke - Thanks to you, WearsLargeHats, and all the others involved in the decision to keep this site up and rolling (and hopefully adding new members soon)!! We are all incredibly thankful to you!

I was able to spend 4 days with my nuke over the Veterans Day weekend. :D  We spent Saturday visiting the USS North Carolina, where we happened upon a Veterans Day ceremony. It was very moving. We were very glad we were there that day.

He is plugging along in prototype. He finds this phase to be more frustrating than either A school or power school. He was accepted into STA21, so after graduation he is off to NSI in Rhode Island for 2 months, then to college (hopefully here in the PNW!) for 3 years. After he graduates he'll have his commission. I'm super proud of him, and happy that he achieved his goal of getting into STA21. But mostly I'm excited he'll be within 2 hours of home for 3 years!! :D
