My nuke dislocated his wrist  going down a wet slide in a wet raincoat.

His twin broke a wrist tripping over a chair in the dark hotel room going to the bathroom.

That was the extent of serious injury.

Thanks Mindya and B's mom. I'm good with the date and place. Would really like to know time and when to be there. You know the kind of details that don't seem necessary to others except moms.

HI Jomac. My son is graduating proto in October at GC. The only thing I got was October 21, but that date may change. I haven't spoken to my son in over a month!! I called the school to verify the dates and they said the same thing. The dates could change. I have heard from many people proto is not the same as the other graduations. There is more room for changes. I am holding off as long as I can to book airfare!!!

Hi all - Happy Monday!

Welcome JoDan and Welcome Back jomac69!  I'm guessing your son is graduating proto jomac?  I don't have any info on proto grad in GC (mine was BS) but I know there are mom's on here who can help you.... JoDan - be sure to read the pages to the right under the member profiles - good info there and of course feel free to ask any questions you may have.

It was a HOT weekend and even hotter today but after Tuesday we are looking at a bit of a cool down in our area.  I know we have some mom's in LA that are experiencing severe flooding.  Praying everyone is safe.

How about those Olympics this weekend!  Pretty exciting!  I've really been enjoying the swimming & gymnastics and even more excited now that track & field has started.

Stay cool everyone!

Hello....haven't been on this site in a couple of years but found it very helpful back then. Looking to get back into the fold here as things continue to move forward for my son. Will be getting to see him in a couple of weeks. Looking for how I might find information on graduation. He hasn't been very forthcoming with info so just looking for any past experiences regarding the Yorktown.

MN Mom - that's awesome!  I grew up riding dirt bikes and dune buggies but never had any desire to get a street bike.

Comment by MN Mom of MM on August 12, 2016 at 3:30pm

This isn't Olympic's related but when my sailor had just graduated HS and several months before leaving for Navy, he said he wanted a motorcycle, I told him he needed the class first, which we went to register him for.  During that process I commented "I used to think I'd like to learn how to ride a motorcycle."  He said "Mom! you should do it with me!!!" to which the lady behind the counter said  "YES you should do it with your son!!!"......Well a week later there I was riding around a huge parking lot lamenting my weak moment......Are YOU Crazy???!!!!What are you doing out here, you are 60 years old and haven't even ridden a bicycle in 40 years and your out here with all these teens who've been on BMX bikes their whole lives,   YOU are Crazy woman!!!.            .......Well......

I passed, have the endorsement on my license, but you will NEVER see me solo on the Harley on the Highway. But I have been a very good passenger behind my sailor.

I too am sad by how short this summer seemed.  I have about 3 weeks left before starting back with my title 1 job at school.  Lets all enjoy every last moment  of the summer to the fullest.

Ok, I'm sorry, but I can't help laughing too at the things that you all tried to do - or your kids/siblings tried!  I can just picture each of these in my mind - of course it's funny now lol!

Boy Patti - doesn't it seem like summer just flew by?  I hear everyone talking about their kids getting ready to go back to school and it's like what, how? Summer just started!

I'm sorry to hear that your dad isn't doing well. Yes, sepsis is a big concern.  I hope that doesn't happen.  Hugs to you.

**spoiler alert** I heard the women's soccer team was just eliminated - bummer :(

NancyJo - that's pretty good creativity - Moses parting the sea.  After the jumping incident I felt safer on water and my mom put me in synchronized swimming.  Now I ski.  Guess I'm getting dumber as I get older.  For the record I have NOT tried to imitate Linsay Vonn or Bode Miller.

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on August 12, 2016 at 1:31pm

Oooooh, JayDee, I cringe as I laugh. That had to hurt! Ouch! Oh well, live and learn. My brother broke his arm by standing on the flatbed of a truck in a cornfield and pretending he was Moses parting the Red Sea like Charlton Heston in the movie. He spread his arms just as the truck moved. He fell on a rut. Yup, kids can be pretty stupid. My sailor has had numerous broken bones and stitches. There were times I questioned his intelligence but he turned out to be pretty smart.
