KAM - The photo melts my heart!  So sweet!

I'm headed up to Goose Creek this Friday to see my Sailor.  It's going to be a quick trip.  Up on Friday, back on Sunday.  I'm bringing his girlfriend with me.  I promised to share him with her.  HA!  Since he's in Power School, I know his time is limited, but with summer coming to an end, I want to see him before I head back to school.

I'm hoping not to melt.  I don't like the heat, and it gives me migraines.  WISH ME LUCK!

KAM Mom that's a great picture!  It made me smile.

NancyJo it's interesting that the curling is in Omaha!  Guess it's like Stanley Cup playoffs in Tampa in June - the condition of the ice can play a big role in how well you do.

It's hot and humid in the Ohio Valley as well.  Saturday is supposed to be our hottest day of the year so far.  I'm not looking forward to it.  In the middle of all this heat I'm working on a presentation for a ski patrol meeting  next week.  I won't recognize anyone at the meeting in their shorts!

Love the BD pic! That's adorable! I wish they had had that cutesy stuff when I was raising babies but now I can live it through the grandkids. So sweet. At least the baby is still clean in this pic...I imagine she got all slathered up once she figured out how yummy it was!

J's/S's, you are a font of knowledge and experience. The pocket/butt dials are hilarious. Mamas always think the worst.

We have heat advisories here in Omaha the rest of this week. 100 degree heat and super high humidity. Yuck!! Right after the heat advisory this morning I hear the news that Olympic curling trials will be in Omaha. That's the event that looks like shuffleboard on ice. Reminds us while we hate the heat and humidity, the ice is just around the corner. There really are 4 seasons!

Stay cool, Sea Sisters!

Awwwww KAM Mom!  Adorable picture of your grandbaby!!! <3 <3  So glad you were able to have the celebration at your home!  Continued prayers for your husband and his treatment.

J's/S'smom - we are lucky in that our heat here in SoCal is a dry heat for the most part lol. We don't get too much of that humidity thank goodness!  Talked to sailor son - he's in VA - and he said it's just been plain gross lately.  He went to see the Truman homecoming last week and said they had people passing out from the heat while waiting....oh my!

The butt/purse dialing is always good for a few laughs :)  You had me cracking up with your story about thinking daughter had been abducted - I can so imagine that happening and thinking the same thing!

Hi Ladies,

It has been so hot here in SC!!!  My sailor is on Grad Hold, but was home this past weekend for a night to help celebrate the 1st birthday of his only niece who was visiting from Ga with her mom and dad! We had the most picture perfect celebration...she was very tentative with the beautifully decorated pink cake, and then decided she liked the sweetness.  She even shared with her daddy.  All the other aunts and uncles were here too with Great Grandma!

Sailor boy will be going on to Prototype the second week of August...or so he hears....then there will be more waiting before he actually begins class and quals. (Do they actually have classes ?)  At least he will still be in GC and nearby.

We continue to do the cancer battling diet and so I spend a lot of time juicing, baking potatoes, making salad.....fortunately I have lost 15 pounds from following this protocol with my husband.  We are not winning the battle yet, but we are pressing on!

The new kitchen and sunroom are almost finished.  Still it was more than satisfactory for our family gathering this past weekend.  I would post a picture, but am not sure how to do that.

I miss being near San Diego where I could see the ships in the bay!!!  Best to all of you.  I do enjoy reading about all your doings.  Continue to seek Jesus for everything begins and ends with Him!!

Hi all - Happy Tuesday!

Hi merve131!  Hop right in - we won't bite!  Glad you were able to spend time with your son ;-)

The weather is heating up this week - everyone be careful out there.

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on July 19, 2016 at 9:11am

JayDee, LOL. I can usually work around the deadly spellcheck when reading messages but yours was a stumper. :D

Hello merve131, glad you joined in! Our strength is in our collective support. It is so helpful to hear how others are doing so that we don't panic. JayDee is right...always another test, always stress. Most of the time our job is to listen and encourage. Hang in there, Mama!
