For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by merve131 on July 18, 2016 at 8:19pm: I have not posted before, but always enjoy reading the wise words from everyone here! Just returned from a week with my son in Charleston. He was commissioned in May and reported to school early June. He is in his 4th week of Nuke school. So proud of him and worry about him. He seems to be doing fine, getting stressed the night before the weekly exams, but otherwise seems to be doing fine. Looking forward to seeing him over Labor Day weekend. Enjoy the rest of the week!

We are the mothers (and dads) of extraordinary young people and I know I speak for us all when I say we are so proud. I'm including those who have served and are no longer active. To be willing to work hard and make such sacrifices is humbling to me. We have such great kids!

PS Thanks for the birthday wishes. Here are my sailors' munchkins. My bd wish to hug them close will come true in August. I just had to share.

I agree - these senseless shootings are very upsetting and have got to stop. I just can't believe the frequency of them...

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on July 18, 2016 at 9:41am: B'sNuke, that pig picture for Friday is one of my favorites. It brought a smile on a day when smiles were hard to come by. France is so upsetting, and the police shootings in our own country have got to stop.

Meanwhile, our sons and daughters who are dedicating their lives to doing something for their country are like a beacon of hope. I still believe there are many more good people than bad on this earth.

I had a birthday Saturday but my sailor is on an underway and I have not heard from him. But he did email last week and said Happy Birthday then. (sigh) I miss my boy!
