Ingrown toenails, back in the day when I was working at Kiaser, were removed in the out patient surgery dept. not by a podiatrist. The general surgeon should remove it.

britefuture glad you got to see your sailors!  I find it interesting that we had such different experiences in San Antonio.  I was also there over Mother's Day and had a wonderful time.  There was a little bit of rain on Sunday but the people were all kind and we had an amazing time.

On the other hand, when we visited San Diego it was cloudy, misty and overcast on the ocean, a damp that you couldn't get away from.  We went to the zoo since the beach wasn't working out and they had record high temperatures of 108 (miserable).  Maybe you'll find that visiting each city again will give you a different experience.

Sorry your son is dealing with the ingrown toenail.  I've not been too pleased with the medical care afforded my daughter at this time either.  But if you talk to her, all is fine and she's doing well.

I'm at home recovering from foot surgery.  My oldest daughter took me last Thursday and left to go back to college yesterday.  My husband got home Saturday night and is just getting ready to head back to St. Louis.  Guess it's just me and the dogs this week.

Good morning N4M family.  I've been MIA for a bit and apologize for my lack of support.  School has me loaded with work and consumed me this semester.

My Sailor is doing well. I was able to fly out to SanDiego for a brief visit a few months back. Boy is SD beautiful, and everyone is correct, the weather was perfect all the time.  Meaning, never too hot and never too cold. Kind-of odd for me since I live in Maryland where the weather changes in a blink.  We didn't do much, just hung out really.  It was wonderful just to be in the same room with him. I'm sure you all can understand that. I'm a bit aggravated at the medical treatment that he's not been getting.  He had complained to me months ago about an ingrown toenail.  He's been to medical half a dozen times and they've given him cream and sent him on his way.  Well his toe has since doubled in size, it's blood red and he walks with a limp.  They made him an appointment to see what was suppose to be a specialist but screwed that up too because the doctor wasn't a podiatrist and even though that doctor said that the nail needed to come out, he didn't have the right equipment to do it.  So they scheduled him, yet again, for an appointment with a podiatrist. Really? Sorry, that's just incompitance.  Never-the-less, Momma-bear is not happy with the treament of her cub.  Hopefully he'll be on the ammends soon.

I also was able to go to San Antonio for a visit with my daughter and grandson. Did not care for that city at all and couldn't wait to get out. It was Mother's Day weekend and it was suppose to just be me but me husband surprised me with tickets for him and my little one too.  My Sailor also flew in so I was extremely fortunate to have all three of my babies together for the weekend.  I felt like the luckiest Mom alive. I'll try to post a picture of all of us together.

Nice to be able to pop in for a quick hello.  I hope you are all well. I have a week off before school starts back up. Not sure what to do with myself, lol.

With our children it was choir, x-country, wrestling and track. I miss hearing singing voices. I don't miss standing in the rain watching runners. Now that they are out of the house, my husband fishes more. I need to get a license and fish with him. Getting out of the house seems to help.

Thanks for the reminder B'sNuke. Thank God for our Armed Forces.

Maria - Michigan Mom:  You might suggest to your son that he ask a friend who's a good runner to run with him to pace him during his test.  My son did that for several friends and it helped pull them through having someone ahead of them to follow.  BTW, my son was on a medical hold for a different condition and ended up staying in Great Lakes for several weeks.  While it was disappointing at the time to not go to Goose Creek with his pals, I honestly think the healing period was the best thing for him.  So, sending good thoughts for your son's healing -- that's the most important thing!

B'sNuke, no bone infection is a good thing. But I hate it when they are in pain. Poor thing. I will hold her in my prayers.

Hi all - Happy Friday!

Yay CoTwin - glad you got a call!  I'm sure you're counting the days until his leave ;-)

another update on my Mom NancyJo - the tests yesterday showed no infection in the bone so they removed her picc line.  Now they just need to figure out why she's still having pain :(
