Co-twin I am so proud  of you.  You are really making things happen.  I can almost smell bread.

Tom your reunion sounds like you enjoyed it.  That is what they are for.  I hope my sailor can do the same some day.

Tj - we registered in our state of oregon.  It was cheaper, our insurance agent suggested it and he said that our sailor didn't have to register in another state until he had orders and he arrived there.  Otherwise it is treated like college.

Have a great weekend.  I am with my kiddos and we are going camping tomorrow.

If your sailor is a nuclear ET, EM or MM on a sub, their training starts, A school and Power School at Goose Creek, SC and they wither finish up there or move to Ballston Spa, NY. They then go directly to their PDS. Mine spent 2 years at Goose Creek and is now in Pearl Harbor.

TJ Proudnavymom  Kitchen has to be souly GF if you are a Celiac certified kitchen. However for Gluten sensitive folks it is not necessary. Just need to clean everything well. I do make excellent GF products. I got the highest grade  in the history of the school on my final exam for healthy baking. 100%. Instructor said if he had not watched me bake it he would not have known it was GF. The dough and pastries will be made separately and stored separately.

New thinking is for folks with the sensitivity, is that it is not the gluten but a pesticide that is used and maybe the GMO Roundup ready. A lot of people can tolerate proven organic wheat.

Oh B'sNuke that's hilarious!! We're talking about Family Feud. Our episode was last night. Here in Omaha they bumped us for high school football!  It created a firestorm of comment on Facebook and phone calls to the tv station. The station said they had no idea a local family was being bumped. Long story short, they are bumping whatever was supposed to be tonight and will show it tonight in this market only. So, party time 2 nights in a row!! LOL The little blond was my daughter, the two guys were my nephews. Glad you saw it. Now you know what a doofus I can be when the cameras roll.

God bless you, TJProudnavymom, and your sailor too. Glad you checked in. Keep us posted!

Hi  TJ Proudnavymom ! Here in CT, you have to turn in your old plate when a car is sold, so not sure if it is the same where you are - if so I would register it where you are so that it has a valid plate in case you or your sailor need to drive it in the meantime. The huge bonus for this would also be that CT charges a big property tax on vehicles with Groton being one of the highest rates, so he could save some $ keeping it with the out of state plate as long as possible :)

Hi all - Happy Friday!  Got my RED on ;-)

CoTwin - woohoo - very excited for you & the bakery!  Sounds like it's all coming together.....boy I think back to the changes that have happened in your life since you started on here with your nuke.  You've accomplished a lot - you go girl!

NancyJo - guess what I watched last night!!  Sorry you didn't win but it sure looked like fun!  Funny about the baby name too lol! That Steve Harvey is a crack up!

8isenuff - sounds like the new apartment will be perfect for your MM.  And probably makes you feel better too, right?!  Glad it all worked out well for her.

TJ Proudnavymom - fingers crossed your sailor gets his orders soon.  When my sailor was in GC his car was registered here in CA.  When he went to NY he traded in his car & bought a new (used) car & he registered it in NY.  Now he's in VA & he said he has to register it there.  Luckily they can show their LES to the DMV & they waive the registration fees.

Hey moms. I'm still lurking here waiting for my sailor to get is orders out of DTP. He's doing ok but ready to move on.

CoTwin - so exited for you and can't wait to send my Colorado family and friends your way once you're open. When you get a chance i'd like to know (here or on FB) about how you plan to avoid cross contamination with the GF stuff. I was telling a GF friend about you and she was asking.

Ok, now for my question.  Where to plate my sailors new car? Here's the scoop. Sailor found a car near us. Hubby and I worked a deal with the seller, sailor got a loan through NFCU and is sending the money to me. I am picking up the car from the seller. Sailor hopes to get leave approved to visit and get the car. If not, I'll bring it to him. Rumor has it he'll get his orders for later in October. Should I plate it here, should he do it in SC? Groton? Anyone have experience with this?

Thx

TJ

CoTwin, so exciting!! I've watched enough Property Brothers to know you will have a ball doing reno. ;) britefuture is right, dream come true.

CO-Twin, I'm so excited for you! Yay! Your own bakery. Sounds like a dream come true. Best wishes!

Heard from my boy yesterday. As I suspected, he's been super busy. He found out that once they arrive at their new home port, he will have first leave. Which means he probably wont be home for his birthday. No worries though, we'll have many more to celebrate with him. And that may mean that Santa needs to bring me a plane ticket for Christmas.
