CO-Twin, your very own bakery! Excellent! I hope you share photos of the work in progress.
Thanks again for the well wishes for my girl. I am still smiling.
B'sNukeMom, She actually had to move about a month ago, when her brother and their roomie graduated and received orders. That broke their lease per the military clause. She really lucked out, though. She found a very nice, fully furnished apartment in Saratoga Springs, owned by a kind older lady who practically immediately adopted her. I believe she found this place through ahrn.com. She also talked to the housing people on base.
Newbie17, I know there are other fully furnished apartments out there, you just have to look. Saratoga racing season is over, so that might make it easier. She actually had a choice between two. They might not be as convenient as Winner's Circle to the plant, but it is nice not to have to figure out what to do with acquired "stuff" when your sailor gets orders for their new command if it is fully furnished.
I officially have a bakery space!! now it is reno time. Rip out a wall, Always wanted to do that!!. Painting the floor red. Have a wall to paint. Electric a go. Fun Fun Fun!!
Hi everyone,
A quick update about my sailors--my MM found out she was selected for ELT! She is very happy about that, and if she is happy, I am happy! =) So very proud of her!! I cannot wait to see her!
Then, as my our ET is readying to leave for his new command, we come to find out that our neighbor (who is an MM) is on his sub! He graduated with our oldest son, while our son and this young man's younger brother worked at the local grocery store together. Now what are the chances of that?
Britefuture - haha that's a lot of catching up to do - see you need to pop in more often so you don't get so far behind! (I'm lucky that I sit at a desk all day lol!) Your sailor is going to love San Diego ;-) Hmmmm Texas instead of Hawaii - not as much fun for a vacation destination, but definitely easier to get too!
Dittersmom - glad to hear things are going well at the new job! Hopefully you'll get a nice routine going soon so you can spend time with the family.... Good luck on the car search.
Our rainfall yesterday set records for this time of year. Unfortunately it caused trouble - flooding, etc. We just aren't prepared here in SoCal for any significant amounts of rain. That & people don't know how to drive in it....I'm very fortunate that I live close to work & don't have to take any freeways.....
Posted before I read everything. I love the minions. Ordered and had delivered minion cupcakes for sailors birthday and the minions are his ring tone.
Britefuture it is nice to see you post.
Happy birthday Boy wonder.
8isenuff, you did take pictures and thank you. I will treasure them as They are the only time that he participated in a graduation ceremony since PIR. You also did a wonderful job telling me who and what was what.
NancyJo my job is going well. I hit the ground running. The gal who's place I am taking is a little hard press to give up the reins, but I am trying to make it easier for her. I have come in and been able to accomplish some things that others have spent years trying to do. I was able to get all of the forms adapted into Spanish for our dept and, so will be able to get forms to parents in their native language. Others have tried and failed, so this just created brownie points for me. Yeah!. My kiddos are missing me some, but I am still planning on going home each weekend and long breaks. My first long weekend is this coming one. I am also trying to buy a fuel efficient car. I have looked at the diesel beetle or the smart car. Sure wished that I could import a diesel smart car from Canada, they get 70 mpg. I will keep looking and see what I can find.
Bnukes I always love your posts. You make me stop and think of others.
Hello to all and have a great night.
Happy Birthday to your sailor, BoyWonderMom. Great photo!
KimberlyDi, I was thinking about you today, wondering if your sailor had made it home for Leave yet. We made salsa to go with our tacos tonight. Made me think of him! You are welcome for the pictures. I am glad I could share them with you. :-)
On the subject of females on subs, my MM would switch to subs in a heartbeat if she could. They have talked to her about the possibility, so we will see...I agree, with you NancyJo. That takes a lot of moxie.
