Trust me J's/S'smom - I've been telling hubby this for 5 years!  I finally threatened that I was going to put my foot up his rear if he didn't go in for the test lol!  I don't have very big feet, but I guess I scared him enough that he finally decided to get it done.....hehehe.

Thank you joyfulmom!  Sometimes I get a little carried away with the attachments, but then I figure what the heck, right?! I hope you are able to hear from your son soon.  That's unfortunate that parents aren't allowed on their FB page :(

Son will be heading to Groton son, he'll be living in the barracks.  He'll be on a fast-attack sub.  Does any of you know what he can bring on the sub and will he keep his other items in his room, ie will he keep his room when he's underway?

If anybody would be willing to be my go-to persons for questions, a mom/dad whose son is already on a sub, I'd love to message back and forth.  Seems, as soon as I get one question answered another pops up.

Thank you all for the welcome back :) I loved following this when my husband first joined and i'm happy to answer any questions... at least for Boomer sub life lol.

Dittersmom - That's awesome that you are helping him out with his apartment! I bet it will look great. I've always had great luck looking on Facebook yard sales/resales for all my stuff.

COtwinsalersmom- Hawaii! I dream that my sailor could find a shore duty job there. So far no luck but it's on my list to visit. I was born there when my dad was stationed at Pearl Harbor. Enjoy your time with him and start saving for your vacation there ;)

TJproudnukemom - Thank you :) Good luck to your son! My husband decided closer to Prototype that he wanted to go subs. He loves it now that he is completely qualified and feels great knowing that the higher ups are noticing his hard work. It's a small community which I love.

Joyfulmom - My husband has been deployed for some time now and I haven't heard from him since I dropped him off at deployed parking. I keep checking my email hoping it will just magically appear. Have you been in contact with your sons ombudsman?? Your son should have put you on a list to receive phone tree messages and get on the mailing lists.

Parents not allowed? That's messed up!

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on April 22, 2015 at 12:45pm

joyfulmom, is your sailor on a sub?

Comment by joyfulmom on April 22, 2015 at 12:22pm

Hello everyone, I do not post much at all, but I do lurk!! I cannot keep up with all the postings to be quite honest! I do appreciate all who do post and the information, it is a Godsend! My son is on deployment right now and boy do I miss him. I do not get any information from their boat bc parents are not allowed on their fb page. It is very isolating to say the least! I get emails from my son once in a while, but he is usually really busy and doesn't say much! lol Thank you B'sNuke for all your fun attachments and info, you are such a blessing!

I would like to guess May 24th, my daughter's birthday!

Heather welcome back. My son is at GC waiting to start A school. He's an ET and, depending on the needs of the navy when he's done with proto, has signed for subs.

I am so so thankful for faithful Navy wives like you and pray that my boy chooses wisely.

Hi all - Happy Wednesday!

My hubby has his colonoscopy on Friday (my PSA here - if you are 50 make sure you get yours done!). Bought his jello & chicken broth for his meals tomorrow lol!  He's already crying that he will to starve to death - I assured him that won't happen!  It's only taken me 5 years to finally get him in for it - sheez! (and yes, I have had mine done).

Make it a great Wednesday!

COTwin, isn't it amazing how our sailors have grown up? All that hard work the navy does with them really pays off.
