SoCal members. Yesterdays sunset over SoCal was quite the buzz over here, Maryland, this morning. I listened to three different channels and they all made comments about it. Kind of odd, I thought. Must have been spectacular. I'm just waiting for the snow to go away.

Hi all! Come on Friday! I need some sleep!

Spoke to Mr. Procrastinator, lol. His detachment is also tomorrow and he spoke with his Dad, who is driving up tomorrow night to get his stuff and bring it all to MD. He still hasn't found a home for his kitties though. Oh well! So he actually has more than 30 days before he reports to his ship. Cool for me!!!!

So, out of curiosity! Does anyone know how he will met up with his ship?

Is anyone going to A-school graduation on March 27th? I won't be able to make it for my daughter, but would greatly appreciate any pics!

CO Twin- I am not sure yet! A few weeks ago when I talked to him, he said he didn't have a graduation date yet and might not know until a week before. I'm nervous about that because we want to go for graduation but 4 last minute plane tickets from Las Vegas might be too expensive. He doesn't tell us much about what's going on. Supposedly he is calling us this weekend!
Congrats to you on both of your boys. You must be beyond proud of both of them. That would be awesome if they were both home together.

Hey B'sNukeMoM, thank you for asking. Trip was wonderful. The Olympic Peninsula is stunning, with long beaches and views of the Sea Stacks everywhere. Got some bucket list pics of my handsome Sailor. I can't seem to post pics from my Ipad. but maybe I will try to just get them in my photos here for you ladies to take a peek...;)

This was posted on Facebook by the captain of my son's carrier, the Carl Vinson. I was wondering about the Theodore Roosevelt as we have discussed it here, and this is what he said. I figure it was on FB so OK to post. I love this guy and that seems to be how the moms on the N4Ms CVN70 page feel too.

Speaking of coming home, today is day 201 and our relief the THEODORE ROOSEVELT got underway to start their deployment.  They will spend some time crossing the Atlantic and enjoy a port call.  We'll enjoy watching their progress and preparing them to take the baton.  The marathon continues and we certainly appreciate your support.  It is an important marathon and as you read the news about the progress against ISIS, realize that your Sailors are a huge part of the reason ISIS is no longer taking territory to establish their caliphate and commit genocide.  In fact, they are desperately trying to hold on to territory while they attempt to govern.  However, governments and dictators who don't respect human life are destined to fail, and with the assistance of many countries joining your Sailors in this fight, freedom will prevail.

Hi All - Happy Almost Friday!!!

Johanna - how was your visit to Seattle?  Did you get some good hiking in?  I hope you weren't sick while on your trip!

Comment by NancyJo (NNPTC) on March 12, 2015 at 9:31am

So sorry William, get better soon! It always sucks to get sick but lucky it didn't happen in Hawaii. There has been some yucky stuff going around but it seems every year has some kind of bug or another. My son was sick with cold-ish stuff after he got to his ship. I think changes in environment can cause that. New bugs.

The article about the hull swap was fascinating! It's cool how it's impacting sailors we know through this blog. It does seem like family. Doubtful we would have the same level of interest if we didn't know something personally.

Britefuture, sorry your sailor is having a hard time. I guess this is how they learn but as mamas we hate it. Don't worry, he'll figure it out.
