Maybe he could go somewhere to play his clarinet.
I send a good book and favorite goodies. little fun gifts. And a heartfelt note. He tends to go running when feeling stressed out.
Sierra scrapper - I know the feeling. When my son needs encouragement I try to remind him that he is exactly where God wants him to be and all he has to do is his best. If he fails, it is because God needs him to be somewhere else.
I listen to what he says and usually don't say anything. He just needs some to vent to and then he is good to go.
Thank you all for the thoughts & prayers - it really means a lot to me ;-) The weather will be nice tomorrow so at least we don't have to worry about that.
William - will be thinking of you as you head to paradise - aloha! I'm sure you will have a wonderful time. Safe travels!
Sierrascrapper - just continue to be a sounding board for your son. He'll get through this - remind him to take time to de-stress.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend!
B'sNukeMom...sorry for your loss. That ceremony will be very moving. We attended my step-dad's military honors burial ceremony and it was quite moving. HUGS TO YOU. I know you will be so proud with your son in his uniform.
Dittersmom...CONGRATS on your son passing comps and how GREAT that he is going to help out with other classes coming up.
William...OMG, that is a LOT of snow! I sure wish we would get some of that here in Nevada! We haven't gotten much of anything for precipitation this year. Supposedly we are supposed to get an "atmospheric river" of weather coming through over the next few days. This is your warning for the East...that storm is coming your way and it is BIG!
CO-Twin...YEA! So glad one of your boys is coming home. I just know you are going to SPOIL him with all of your wonderful creations. I hope he enjoys some time with you and likes the new "digs".
Well...all this time while my son has been in A-school, he's been cruising along just fine and having no problems. Last week was the first week since the class split up the ETs and EMs. He didn't do very well on his first ICE test and he spent the entire weekend studying. He told me that the next 6 weeks are going to be hell for him. So...now it's my turn to start worrying a little bit for him. Not that I can do anything about it except for encourage him. Still, geez, it's HARD to feel anxiety for him. He has the determination and the brains so I know he can get through this. I sent him a card with a 4pg letter in it today just to try to cheer him up and help him take his mind off of things a little bit too. What kind of words of wisdom or encouragement do you send to your Nuke when they are stressing out?
B'sNukeMom,,,So glad you will have both your boys with your family for the funeral, how special that will be, your son in his dress blues caring your StepDad's ashes. You can be a proud daughter and mom. Our thoughts are with you.
Love all your funny posts. Thanks.
I should be seeing both my boys in March.
