Julia373 - I found an old post that listed Chantilly Cake Shop.  Email is: fine.melissa@chantillycakeshop.com or call 843.303.5430. www.chantillycakeshop.com

And another is www.freshcupcakes.com. 843.856.7080 (In Mt. Pleasant).

Let us know how it works out for you & your son!

8isenuff...Happy Birthday to your daughter!

COtwin...that IS a mountain of boxes.  I share in your feelings about moving.  I'm still trying to unpack and we've been in our smaller place for a month now.  Doesn't help to be working 6 days a week.

B'sNukeMom...congrats to your son on his running endeavors. How exciting!

I was thrilled to hear from my son this weekend even though we didn't get to talk for too long.  He did mention that he gets to march in the Veteran's Day parade in Charleston. Sure makes my heart happy to hear he is doing well and enjoying himself at the same time.

Hope you all get out and vote today if you haven't voted early.  I plan on taking my Nuke's twin to the polls after he finishes classes at the University today.  It's their very first time voting.  I was so glad to be able to find a way for my Nuke to vote too.  Our Registrar of Voters office helped me get the information needed to our son so he could easily vote online.

Tonight is my Blue Star Moms meeting.  I love going to the meetings, it sure helps me feel like I can do something to help all of our servicemembers and I get the support I need when I miss my son.  This weekend, we have a packing party for the troops and next week we get to march in the Veteran's Day parade in our town with the Blue Star Mothers.  SO EXCITING!

My son's birthday is next week and I would love to find a bakery that will deliver some red velvet cupcakes to him on the base. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Julia

Hi All - Happy Tuesday!

8isenuff - Hope your sailorette had a great birthday!  Such a cute picture of your 2 nukes!!

Co-Twin - good luck with the un-packing!  Can't wait to see pictures of your new house when you are settled in.

krymarz - your son will most likely get some leave as the school goes on holiday stand down.  Some get the week of Christmas, some get the week of New Years & some may get part of both.  His SLPO should be telling him soon and he would have to put in a "chit" for the time off. Even though the school is on stand down they still need people to stand watch though.....

ChrisBear - your sailor should have info on his grad date.  That is usually known well in advance.  Maybe if you give the class # another mom or dad on here might have that info.

Election Day today - Get out there and Vote!
