britefuture - I'm in Southern California (Riverside).  We're about an hour East of Los Angeles, an hour or so North of San Diego and an hour from Disneyland!  It can get pretty warm in the summer but this weekend was warmer than usual!  I'd rather have it hot than cold though 'cuz I can always turn on the AC.  When it gets cold I just can't warm myself up enough no matter how hard I try.

That's so sweet that he's teaching his little brother the Navy Hooyah!

TheBoyWonderMom- I love the collage. Happy birthday to your Sailor.

I won? Really? After an awful day, that news made me smile. So thank you Craig.

B'sNukeMom - Remind me of where you live. That's crazy hot. What are the normal temps? We have been wonderfully cool with sunny skies and an occasional cloud will drift by. I'm not gonna complain after reading your posts. Prayers for some cooler temps soon.

Spoke to Sailor-Man yesterday. He's doing good. Just coming off of T week. Which, to him, is a bit of a break with check outs. Lots of reading though. He talked to my, almost, three year old and taught him, "Go Navy, Hooyah". He's been running around the house and at school yelling it today, lol. I had to explain to his teacher why he was saying it.

Happy Monday all!

So very sad to hear about the fighter pilots that crashed on the USS Vinson.  Prayers for the family of Lt. Nathan Poloski and also for the pilot that survived.  Such a tragedy.

Rena - A school is 14 weeks for MM, 24 weeks for EM and 24 weeks for ET (not 6 months!).  Power school (for all) is 24 weeks and Prototype (for all) is 24 weeks.  However prototype can (and usually does) take longer depending on delays (scheduled maintenance & shutdown's) with the reactors.

I bumped "Your Sailor's Schedule Upon Arrival to GC" above.  You should print it out & review it as it is very handy!  It explains the time frame, phasing up, etc for nuke school.  It should answer most of your questions.

NonnaB - a Tiger Cruise - How exciting for your hubby!  I hope someday mine gets to go on one ;-)

Anchors-A-Way - woohoo - exciting that you will see your sailor soon.

Congrats to the winners of Craig's contest.  Keep the ideas coming for the coins so Craig can make this happen!

We had an unbelievably HOT weekend.  Got up to 108 yesterday - ugh!Still pretty warm for the next few days too & then humidity is coming in Wed/Thurs....we aren't used to the humidity here! Saw someplace in Wyoming & I think Montana had snow.  Crazy weather...sailor was in NYC for 4 days and they had cool rainy weather.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!
