While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

In the event of an emergency within the sailor’s family, where you feel the sailor must be notified and considered for Emergency Leave, you must notify the American Red Cross through the national headquarters in Washington, DC (1-877-272-7337) or via their website www.redcross.org.

Comment by E'sMom on July 21, 2014 at 10:41pm: Well, Congrats to all of the A school grads and other Nuke Grads. I have not written for a while as my sailor is no longer in the Nuke program. He is at DPT(I might have them mixed up). He did get orders and is leaving on the 29th of July. It has been trying at times but you do need to let them find their own way and make their own mistakes. Tough that you can not help them out and only hear one side. I am hoping that a shorter school and more " hands on" will be to his liking. While we do not know what they are going to train him in, he does sound like he is ready to move on and change places. I do know that the heat and humidity was not to his liking. I wish all of your sailors well in their endevors!

But I would ALWAYS suggest to your sailor to ask for a carfax if he/she is purchasing a used vehicle. Sailors (when they arrive) get briefed on things to avoid (sign and drive deals, etc. because SC does not have a cap on their interest rates).

Comment by mrsrds2012 on July 21, 2014 at 9:20pm: Hi Ladies - just wanted you to know that the Air Force base is about 15 miles away from the Navy Base, so they're separate. The school buildings have a guard standing at the check point to get in - if you do not possess a military ID, that area is off limits to you. You can, however, go to the NEX, Commissary, and the places surrounding those areas (although you MUST have photo ID, and unfortunately, you are not allowed to purchase anything as a civilian).
