I'm getting in to this conversation a little late.  I'm 48, and my husband is 50.  Our Nuke is 19 (Class 1424M).  Our SR (PIR 6/6/14, and future Nuke) is 21.  We also have a married daughter who is 24.  The younger Nuke is eagerly awaiting his brother's arrival in GC, as they are very close.

Dinky My son agrees with yours on the liking power school better and that it is more interesting and he gets more help if he needs it. More relaxed.

An update on my Sailor. I don't post much about him because there isn't much to add. He's on eternal grad hold and is adjusting to shift work. I'm crashing his Navy bachelor pad in a couple of weeks. Hotel rooms are scarce and over priced for racing season so he said that I can stay there. It should be interesting. He told me to bring my inflatable bed for him and I will sleep in his bed. His words were, "I not gonna have my Mom sleep on a couch or blow up bed". I told him that his brother will be coming with me (2 years old). He called yesterday to let me know that he bought the new WII system and a bunch of games that he can play with his brother. He's so sweat. I'm so proud of the man he has become.

I've really been enjoying all of the stories and sharing lately. We are an amazing, eclectic bunch. Wouldn't it be great if we could have a N4M reunion? Or publish a book titled, "Memoirs of Navy Families".
The weather, here in MD, has been a bit soggy to say the least. I have a mop bucket on my back porch that's half filled with rain water just from today. Fog rolled in, within the last hour, so thick that I can't see the field behind my house. Thunder is rumbling so hard that I can not only hear it but can feel it as well. It's dark and rain is now coming down in buckets again. Oh and my goofy dog is in my bath tub. Good grief, guess I should get the oars out.

From windy 7 hot so calif. 55, my Sub now 27, he was called the 'old man' when he was in Goose Creek.

For those going to Graduation at Goose Creek, when we were there, they had T-shirts for sale.  Nice t-shirts, I think they were only taking cash.  Great price, wished I had more cash.  After graduation commencement, they sold fast.

@SandraG - we have had our tough spots, but for the most part we just love each other and want the best for each other. Suffice it to say I'm a fan of his!! :)

BlancheMarie - I find myself wanting to know if I'm congratulating you for birthday anniversary or wedding anniversary! Lol either way, I'm impressed!

Christy - I teared up reading your story. My guy is that protective of me, too. And isn't it lucky that we had the benefit of birthing someone who inspires us to be and do better? Reminding me of this stuff is part of the support I love from this group.

Happy Hump-day, everyone!!

Okay, if we're doing ages, I'm just about to hit 53, my nuke is 24, and his brothers are 26 and 28.

Slezaks Mom I absolutely loved your story. Sounds like you & your son have a fun relationship. My nuke is 19, his brother is 16 & we have mother/son dates too. Love them!
