So proud of my son today. He PIRd 1-24-14 so has been at A school a little over 2 months. Today was my baby sisters wedding(his God-mother too). He made himself totally available all day and got to watch the ceremony on Skype. My sis looked over at me, I mouthed his name and she teared up! He also skyped with everyone at the reception and EVERYONE commented on how much he has grown, his thoughtfulness in being available all day, and how proud they are of him serving our country. Great day for this Navy mom!

Hi everybody.Hope everybody's doing okay.I know what the blue candle means when we burn them for US Navy Sailors.I have a special request.A month ago, today,Officer Jason Crisp and his K-9 Maros were killed in Burke County,NC,while pursuing a suspect during a manhunt. While Officer Crisp didn't serve in the Navy,he served in law enforcement since 1996.He was a US Forest Service Officer/McDowell County Reserve Officer at the time of his death.K-9 Maros was cremated and his urn was buried with Officer Crisp. My request is if you have a blue candle/and or blue light for your front door,to shine them this evening. There's Blue Line Across America-Shine a Light for Officer Jason Crisp and K-9 Maros event going on right now honoring and remembering them.Officer Jason Crisp and K-9 Maros E.O.W. 03/12/2014.Thank you.

Christy, I couldn't agree with you more. It was an amazing day at PS graduation. The class was so lucky to have a Four Star Admiral as guest speaker. That is virtually unheard of. I was lucky to get the most amazing pic of my son receiving his certificate from Admiral Richardson. My brother (retired from Navy since 1992) was able to attend and he was most impressed. It brought tears to his eyes. I appreciate your story of your son's car buying experience. My son bought a ridiculous muscle car with his car father's encouragement back in May. Even though I thought it was not the most sensible car to buy I am enjoying riding home with him in his Dodge Challenger. Staying overnight in Virginia and will be home in upstate NY by tomorrow afternoon. All in all a great and memorable experience. For all of you with upcoming PS graduations, I encourage you to attend.

Is anybody planning to go to A-school graduation in a few weeks?  Class 1406, on May 9.  We will not be going, but would like to have some pics if anybody is able and willing.  PM me, and I'll give you more details.  THANKS!!

I also want to second PattiP's comment - seems like you are all describing my son often - scary (in a VERY good way) there are many more like him!!

@bclmomct,   My son rented his bed,  The roommates all rented the washer & dryer together.  Funny, he went into some detail explaining why they were renting the washer and dryer instead of going to a laundry mat (like I was going to oppose their decision). I just smiled and told him that was a good idea.

Comment by bclmomct on April 12, 2014 at 2:31pm

My son is all moved in, except for a bed in Charleston.  He's excited and we are excited for him.  Can't wait to go down and see him.
