Sherri, so glad that Sarah got what "she" wanted considering it is "her" day. When we were doing Diego and Kelsey's wedding last fall, we only had seven weeks and we did what Kelsey wanted. Her family didn't pay anything (story here, but don't need to go there), and she was really good about what we were able to do and what we couldn't do. The only regret I have is that we didn't have the money for a professional photographer. We took pictures as well as the dad of one of Kelsey's friend. We have some great pictures, so we will be doing an album for them and taking it down with us. It is a lot of work, not matter how simple you go. Her dress was the second one she tried on, we were all in tears. She was beautiful and I am sure Sarah will be as well! Keep us posted!!!

Sherri- yup! I know what that's like. I ended up having to walk away during wedding dress shopping because I knew I was getting biased.

Today's frustration: Bridesmaid Dress shopping!! UGH! Davids Bridal is expensive but it has the right colors. Except we chose the colors that only a few dresses come in. I'm so sick of sacrificing stuff! Now we might have to start at square one and pick new colors. grr.

Hey all!

Well, dress shopping this morning with Sarah!  Loads of fun...and she found her dress!  Probably VERY few alterations will be needed!  The dress is very pretty, not the one I thought looked best on her, but it does look good on her and it was her favorite one..the one she picked out awhile back.  I told her to get HER favorite dress cause it was her wedding...there was some pressure from a couple of others to get the one that was cheaper and that everyone else liked better, but in the end she went for her favorite and I am very happy about that.

Dan's mom - I remember you saying something about your son's roommate situation several months ago.  I've thought about it several times wondering how that all went.

My son said that his current roommate stays up all night (probably only on weekends now that they have started Power School, but during t-track he would stay up all night) playing his video game and he'd get really mad at it and yell at it in the middle of the night, waking my son up quite often.  I told my son to just talk to the guy, since they have known each other for so long now, since bootcamp, and just ask him to have a little more consideration.  I don't know if he has ever talked to him, but he hasn't mentioned it still being a problem.  I know my son goes to sleep with his ear buds in his ears, listening to music.  I don't like that at all.

Dor - I don't know how much icing he is doing to that ankle.  I lthink he suffers through it and doens't do much to help it.  I mean, I know it's a pain, but he has a truck and can go get ice packs, frozen peas, ANYTHING, and they have a freezer in their little fridge so he could have it right there on hand.  UGH, kids.  The physical therapist told him it is the worst type of sprain with torn ligaments.  Emily said she had the same thing and ended up finally having surgery that made her totally better, but the time frame on her recovery was about 4 months.  So if they end up saying he needs that, hopefully he coudl do it right after Power School.  I don't know if it could ever heal on it's own, and if he can't run I'm not sure if they would make some allowances for that, like maybe make him do 30 minutes on the bike or eliptical machine at a certain speed and distance, to make up for the running.  Just not sure.

Penny, as far as I know it can go either way, single room or room with a roommate.  My son got a roommate when he had to move after A school graduation in March. He was happy with his new roommate because it is one of the guys he's been with since bootcamp who is 25, farely quiet, but never leaves the room.  He's addicted to one of those dang video games, day and night.  Some guys got single rooms though.  I guess it just depends on what is available when they have to move.

My son who just graduated A-school this month said that they are moving him out of the barracks he is currently in and into another one.  Does anybody know if they typically remain with a roommate or if they are in single rooms for Power School? Any comments?
