I don’t get on here much due to the craziness of life, however, I wanted to let you ladies know that I deeply appreciate the conversations.  I have prayed for our sailors & am thrilled to know we are in this together.❤️⚓️  Also, I got the best Valentines present ever.....my husband is taking me to see our sailor graduate from A school this Friday!!!!!!!!  I’m SO EXCITED!

Thanks for all of the information!  I was able to track down the current ombudsman and give my friend the fleet and family support center number too.  Very grateful to have this site to find valuable information quickly!

Good suggestions WearsLargeHats.

NurseMom - I sent you another link in a pm.

I think this is a good reminder for everyone to talk to their sailors and make sure they have contact info for Ombudsman, FRG, Fleet & Family Support, Red Cross (which I have info posted for them in the pages on the right) etc.  You never know when you might need it.

Comment by WearsLargeHats on February 13, 2019 at 2:24pm

Nursemom, I wouldn't recommend posting something like this on FB, even in closed group. (There is a reason for the no-last-names-rule here.) Your friend should encourage her daughter to reach out to the Ombudsman and the FRG. Perhaps the FRG can provide some practical assistance. There is also a Fleet and Family Support Center. Your friend's SIL should be encouraged to reach out to his command, and/or the chaplain. Our sailors have lots of support available, but it can be difficult to convince the guys to avail themselves of it. A strong man, or woman for that matter, isn't ashamed to ask for help when they need it.
It is very important for submariners to be confident that things are going well at home so that they can focus on their mission.
