For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.

**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

Comment by MK on April 10, 2011 at 8:03am: Lala Ribbon Queen makes somes amazing ribbons to wear to PIR. Its not too early to place an order with her. I can tell you from experience that it made finding our son much easier. Many of the boys saw the ribbon with his name and pointed me in the right direction. Plus the ribbons are an awesome keepsake afterwards.

Comment by julie067 on April 10, 2011 at 12:30am: I would rent a car for convience, there is a nice mall in Gurnee. Most hotels provide shuttle or there is a company for a fee that will drop you off. My daughter graduated 2/18 and had Liberty thru Monday night because of Presidents day. It depends on if your sailor is leaving right away and you don't find that out until closer to PIR. Some people fly to Chicago and some fly to Milwaulke. Hope it helps.

Do most of the hotels provide shuttle service to the RTC or none of them? How much time to the RC get off, 1 day? Trying to figure out when to fly out, I assume fly in no later than Thursday. I am sure many of these questions are answered in a group somewhere...I might have to go searching through "groups" to see what I can find!! SO many questions so little time!! LOL

Comment by julie067 on April 9, 2011 at 11:20pm: Just a helpful hint... the 31st is a Federal Holiday. Your sailor will most likely have liberty on that day also. Keep that in mind when making room reservations.
