This is the final test for your SRs. It is an overnight 12 hr drill that tests them on all they have learned and may encounter when deployed on a ship. It takes place on the Disney-created USS…Continue

Anybody have a daughter in division 182? I was hearing from her regularly but haven't heard anything since Mother's Day. Silence is so hard! She mentioned in her call that there were lots of people…Continue

Oops...meant wives and/or GF's!
Just in case...
Oh...and you all sound like you are going to be very pertty for your DH and sons.
You wives...very special for your hubbies! They will love it!
Can't think well enough to be able to shop!
So, it's jeans and red shirts for us! Nice ones though...it works out good...that way he can spot us...if he sneaks a look!
I did get my toes done though! Red, White and Blue/with stars! I don't care if it IS raining...open toe or I'm taking my boot off to show him!...LOL!
I'll take a pic at some point and post it...just what you want to see...my toes, huh?!
To anybody who has a Sailor going to Groton: Have any of you who's SR has been through BS found out any flight information for Groton? Have they even told them yet what day they're leaving? I'm still hoping and praying for a Saturday morning flight (I'll never give up on that hope)!!!
janh: I saw you asked about getting the black back pack to them, especially if they leave at 2:00 am to go to the airport. My son's girlfriend and I decided we're going to the airport at that time too! If Metra leaves early enough we'll take that into Chicago. If not, I'll just have to pay to take a taxi. There's a possibility we may get to spend most of the day waiting with them so I'm not passing up that opportunity! My son's dad and brother aren't going but I sure am!
Okay. These might be silly questions, but they've been bugging me all morning. (1) What is the "21" for in "Battlestations 21"? (2) Where did the blue candle tradition for battlestations originate? Anyone know?
I LOVE that 50s style, too, but I'm just too vanilla/plain toast to pull it off! That sounds super cute, though.
I've read that it's pretty much anything and everything as far as clothing and appearance at PIR. I wanted to be kinda dressy and formal out of respect for the ceremony, but I also wanted to be comfortable because I'll have the darned outfit on all day long.
