This is the final test for your SRs. It is an overnight 12 hr drill that tests them on all they have learned and may encounter when deployed on a ship. It takes place on the Disney-created USS…Continue

Anybody have a daughter in division 182? I was hearing from her regularly but haven't heard anything since Mother's Day. Silence is so hard! She mentioned in her call that there were lots of people…Continue

NavyMomSue: Keep your cell phone in your bra...might feel it vibrate better there! Seriously! Just during bc as it may not be a healthy thing to do...although I have a friend who treats her bra as a purse and stores everything in there...phone, keys, money...etc....rather embarrassing if she leans over too fast as it all comes flying out!
So sorry you missed the call....but there will be more and they will be even more extra special!
Joan: I know your daughter's disappointment must have been alot in missing a longer talk with you (yours too!), but just to hear your voice/and you--her voice for that brief time probably gave her the energy and motivation to keep moving forward! Here's hoping for a longer phone call next time!
Here is some more valuable information for you Navy parents out there. It is not widely known, but the United States Postal Service offers a Military Care Kit. It is available to anyone who wants to mail packages to someone serving in the armed forces. The USPS wants to promote mailing packages to our soldiers, so everyone is allowed to take advantage of this offer.
What is included in the kit?
Two Large Priority Flat Rate boxes
Two tall Medium Flat Rate boxes
Two short Medium Flat Rate Boxes
Six address labels
Six Customs Forms
Six clear plastic adhesive-backed envelopes to attach the customs forms to your package
One roll of Priority Mail Tape
All this is sent to you free of charge, and there is no limit on how many kits you or your group can order!
So, how do you order the Postal Service Military Care Kit? Simply call 1-800-610-8734, choose Option 1, and ask for the Military Care Kit, or the "Mili-Kit", as it is also known. You will speak to a USPS Customer Service Representative who will take your order for the number of kits you request. You will normally receive your Military Care Kit within a week of ordering, although the Postal Service representative is obligated to tell you that it may take longer than that.
The Military Care Kit is a great product that makes it easier for anyone to send packages to someone serving in the United States military. These boxes can be sent anywhere in the world that our troops are serving, and you will only be charged domestic Priority Mail postage rates.
Thank you for the link ProudNavyMom! I ordered one. I missed my son's call the other day. UGH! I work in a noisy area and didn't feel my phone vibrate either! I saw that I missed it an hour and a half later. I was crushed and teary eyed all day. BUT, I received a letter yesterday and thought I would mention what he said in case the SRs he mentioned happen to be one of your boys or husband. He mentioned a SR from Georgia and another SR who is 37 years old. Not wanting to put in their last names of course. If any of you are interested and feel that one of them may be your SR..send me a message and I will tell you the scoop. It's all good of course!
HisSailor I agree. I think what has happened is that we started getting phone calls and more letters and we are just kind of moving away from stalking the website because we've started hearing from our SRs. The journey is definitely not over yet; we still have a way to go. They will be going up against their toughest challenges yet. Hopefully we can somehow find out when Battle Stations is and I would also like to know when the gas chamber is scheduled. If anyone knows why week 4 is called "hell week" I would like to know that as well!!!
I hope that by now everyone has heard from their SR. Have a great day everyone!!!
