This is the final test for your SRs.  It is an overnight 12 hr drill that tests them on all they have learned and may encounter when deployed on a ship.  It takes place on the Disney-created USS…Continue

Luvn - the Atheletic PO is the recruit, or recruits as there are sometimes two per division, that helps the RDCs run PT. They will demonstrate various exercises or stretches, and are expected to excel in the PFA.

Proud - it seemed to me as if most of the other phone calls were happening during the evening too, but that could be because most of them, if not all, were during the week. The RDCs aren't going to let a reward (especially something like a phone call which they don't have to ever let the recruits make) get in the way of the divisions schedule. The exception here would be necessary calls, regarding clearances, etc.

I got a letter today! It put a big smile on my face to read, I could almost hear her voice.

Go to page 56 and JessicaB-SailorMom gives you a link to the questionnaires. I printed them out and included them in with a letter I sent to my SR.

Where do I find the questionnaire to send out?

Thanks diannep, I just wrote to my son to ask around to see who is not getting mail.

I got one of my questionnaires in the mail today from my SR!  He filled it out and where I left blanks to explain things he did go into more detail.  He is really loving it there.  Seems like all this time that I was being a fairly lenient parent that what he really needed was rigid structure in his life.   He said he was"brothers with everybody in there".  That makes me feel good too!  May not be blood family but they're family nonetheless.  He also added a short note that he's calling tomorrow!!!!!  Finally, the long awaited phone call!  Don't know when or what time but my phone will be with me (even in church) so if he calls I won't miss it!!!  To those of you who have gotten calls, do they mostly come at night?  It seems like from what I've read they do.  I'll be in church tomorrow night but will definitely sit in the back so I can answer the phone if it rings.

MommaCindy:  Ask your SR if he/she knows anyone not getting mail and get their name.  You can private message it to those who want to write.

I got a letter!!!! My SR is sick, but says almost everyone in his division is. He thinks the food is amazing ( but he loves food LOL) He plans on trying for Athletic Petty Officer (anyone know what that is?). My favorite part is where he says " I finished my swim qualification with a resounding PASS! *Crowd goes wild*

He also says he'll have liberty weekend with us before heading to A school. He's going to MS. Has anyone heard this???

Got our first letter today!  She filled out the "survey" I sent her (thanks to N4M!) and then wrote a full page.  My heart is so full of emotion!  She says that Sunday was week 1 day 5 of training for 181.  And that they had A LOT of processing days.  From the sounds of our experienced BC'ers, that a lot of pure H___!  She said this past Sunday was their first time having any free time.  So other PIR 5/26'ers, keep the faith.  You will hear from your SR soon!

Is there a way to find out who is not receiving mail?  I'd love to send a card of thanks to them and maybe a special note.

joan:  NO CANDY!  HA!  They do not allow the SRs to receive care packages or food of any kind.  Like Lala said, they will give them a hard time about it...and then eat it themselves!  Happened to my son when he was there....but we still don't know who sent the Christmas care package (no name on it).  Came from a state he didn't know anyone in.  They grilled him about who would have sent it...confiscated it...and later, he saw them all eating the goodies!  He got a good laugh over that one!
