Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:

In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

It's a knee-length a-line dress made from red, white, and blue fabric. I've a navy blue caridgan to wear over it... I found the CUTEST sandals at Dillards with anchors on them, so I'm wearing those regardless of the weather. :)

He asked me to bring his laptop, contact lenses and boxers (lol). I finally got into his room today and stripped his bed and cleaned out from under his bed and dressers. REALITY :( BUT PRIDE :) GO DIV 182!!!!!

Comment by Ruth, Gun's Mom on May 22, 2011 at 6:47pm: I'm not sure why we were allowed to attend the ceremony when recruits become sailors. It's very rare to be invited--my son said it never happens. You can't ask them questions about battle stations as they are not permitted to share what happens other than something general maybe. It is emotional--they're exhausted and it's the last big hurdle to being in the Navy.

Every graduation ceremony is the same (except for the grads, of course!), so do take a look at some of the pictures posted by the U.S. Navy Recruit Training Center on facebook. It's what they will experience on Friday. Hope you can be there--bring binoculars, cameras, and tissue!
