Kim - He was not in uniform when he left for Norfolk,  He went up to the counter to see if he could board early and she said yes he could even though he was not in uniform.  When he cam come a few weeks ago he came straight from A school and he was in uniform and he boarded first.  I guess he didn't realize he had to be in uniform of early boarding.  The attendant made an exception for him, it was nice of her. And your son is right about not wearing their nwu's when flying. Mike said its a big no no !!

Jana, thanks for the info.  My youngest graduated college last year and is now thinking his military options because the jobs are not out there.  He is living close to there.  I passed it on.  My sailor is now a recruiter and they are talking.

Mikesmom, how did your son board early?  I always here that active military in uniform can board early.  I only see the army flying in uniform and my son was told to never fly in uniform.  Too much of a target.  I have walked him to the gate and watched army board.  He tells me that he is not allowed.

I will share a trick.  He has flown around the world a few times on orders and there are no restrictions on his checked or unchecked luggage.  When he flies personally, he shows his id and tells them that his orders are classified........No charge.  I don't believe in cheating, but they deserve to fly home to mom and not pay to check their bag.
