N4M's Community Guidelines

OPSEC.

~OPSEC OPerational SECurity, is always of the utmost importance.

~N4M’s also has Community Guidelines just like any other social media.

~Please take the time to read the OPSEC and N4M’s Community Guidelines.

~A quick note here, from the N4M’s CG’s:

• Don’t Jeopardize the Safety of Our Sailors: Remember OPSEC (Operational Security) (Don’t Sink Ships With Loose Lips) This site and all content posted on it are viewable to everyone on the Internet. This doesn’t mean you can’t share things about your Sailor – but too many details can put Sailors in harm’s way. The following are examples of red flags and should not be shared within this community either by posting or sending via a Group message:

• Sailors’ last names. This includes your username if you share the same last name as your son or daughter.

Some Suggestions:

~If your last name is different from your Recruits it is still not recommended for you to use in your username for your own personal security. This is your option. It is also not a good idea to use an email address as your username for personal security reasons.

~First Names and pictures of your Recruit are allowed but remember, everyone can see it and someone can easily match them up with their "mom". So you might want to consider changing your profile picture to not include your Recruit at least for the duration of BC. Again, your option

~It is also a good idea to make your settings for your Profile Page "viewable only to your friends"

I'm nervous.  When I spoke to my son on Christmas and received a letter from hm on Thursday, he hadn't been able to pass the 2nd part of the swimming.  He's taken and passed his other tests, he says coming 3rd highest in his group on the academics.  He was suppose to take the swim test again this past Thursday & Friday, but I haven't heard anything from him.  If he was unable to pass the test, he says he could possibly be put in another group and would not graduate on this Friday, 1/3/2014 which I have already paid for plane tickets, rental car and hotel and would loose money on the hotel and car rental.  I have butterflies and I'm praying he has passed and that's why we haven't heard from him.  Please keep my SR in each of your prayers.

No call from my son yet and I'm nervous as a cat!  He's in Div 049 - anyone know what I can expect??

I'm going crazy!! Knots in my stomach, butterlies in between the knots!
My call should come tomorrow and I will most likely be up every hour on the hour wondering what he's going through. I've been proud many times for my son, but this experience takes the cake so far!

That's great, Momof4:  That is the advantage of those staying in GL for A School....they get Daytime Liberty all 3 days....usually starting in the early morning and not having to return until much later in the evening.  Hope you get that call soon!

Good Morning All !  Fun Captains Cup (athletic competition) this morning for all divisions.

Still no I'm a Sailor call. This morning is Captain's Cup, so hoping for a phone call this afternoon. Feel that he made it, but would be great to hear him say the words. Good luck everyone at Captain's Cup. Go Div 043

Thanks so much for posting, Nate6629mom!  Congrats to your sailor!  So that would mean that Div 043-046 went through last night.  Congrats to all of the new sailors!
