hhahhahah ... I know what you mean.. our kids know what they are doing today... tomorrow... who knows... everyday is a new adventure.. my sailor said his rate is ALWAYS in school since he's been on his ship he's been back twice, couple weeks here couple there. yea, usually a deployment takes them far away... my kid does some security stuff as well... MP type stuff too.. he enjoys all the different things the Navy has him do
My son does know what he'll be doing for the next year or so. He's been told there is a little more schooling in his future because they're going to have him doing security. ( I have no idea what that means. Don't they have MPs for that?) And there is a long float to go far away. I know I'm being kind of vague but I'm unsure about OPSEC. It's probably all common knowledge somewhere but I just don't want to make anyone less safe because of something I did or said.
YOU GOT IT....CONSTANTLY AMAZED.... He's now STG3...(surface sonar tech) but does a lot more....there are so many other teams when they are afloat.. I found out last wednesday he made 3rd, since he was underway he found out thursday. Communication sucks when they are underway... no calls, no texting, no fb updates ... back to letters.... he was only underway for 5 days . i don't know how often the mail gets delivered when they are on deployment... im guessing not often.... has your son received orders yet??
BRAVO ZULU Barby! I know you will understand what I mean when I say I am constantly amazed.... Just when I think I can't posssibly be any prouder of the young man who calls me Mom he proves me wrong and makes me prouder still! When does it stop? I think my head is going to explode!
I can't remember what your sailor's rate is. Mine is AECF. He is trying to be cool but he is pretty excited about finally being in the REAL Navy and through with C school. Does any body know what communication is like when they are on long, far away floats?
HEY HEY.... My sailor just made petty officer !!!! He just got back to shore an hour ago... first time underway only went out for 5 days for systems test and ops check.. we just got back from a visit in beautiful san diego a week ago!!! BRAVO ZULU to you and your sailor!!
Well. My son finished C school last week. He came home for a week and got back to VA yesterday. Last night was his first night on his ship! A new chapter begins. I know a lot of you have already passed this milestone so you can help me navigate these unfamiliar waters. (Can you have milestones in water or is that mixing metaphores?) I miss all you guys. How is everyone doing?
CRICKET CRICKET.................................. all is well here....hows everyone
gmansmom.... im posting a PM to you on FB
