Anyone have a story as to how your Recruit told you they were joining the Navy? Here is mine: I am in the middle of a very crowded and loud Costco with bad cell service. My son calls and says he needs to tell me something very important. I gulped and said ooookay, shoot...he either said " wanted to tell you I have joined the Navy" OR "wanted to tell you Sienna and I are gonna have a baby". Either way my knees went a little weak, I apparently went very pale and I suddenly developed a studder. He must have had to repeat it 5 or 6 times because of the reception. Anyway I thought it was pretty funny and I giggle everytime I think about it. :)
Rexy, it will! Just keep him motivated! He will do just fine.
momship, It does feel good to see his handwriting. I have been doing exactly the same thing you are doing. Writing and encouraging him that this is normal to feel tired and that you have to work hard to get your dreams going.
Barby, I am not sure why. Maybe your son is more physically prepared for bootcamp than my son?? I know that my son should have done a lot more running. He isn't weird. Maybe just more prepared. That is a good thing.
Kev, I will keep on writing. I hope the letter I get next sounds a little more encouraging.
ok this is sooo weird... but everyone is saying that their SR's are having a hard time... why is my sr not saying that.. but said is enjoying it and so far so good. is my kid just the weird one??
Rexy, thats great you got a letter! Feels good doesn't it!? My son too sounds like he's having a hard time. He said that 2 have already dropped...we keep writing him daily and telling him to hang in there and to remember this is his dream and this BC part is just a small hump that he has to complete in order to continue on to his BIG DREAM in the Navy!
Rexy, awesome! write your son everyday, I do. I'm glad I did because he has received all the letters so far. Even if its a one paragraph note....mail it!
Kev, So glad you got your letter today.
I got a letter too. My son said he needs more sleep and his feet are killing him. He said we need to write him because he is "doing his best here". Sounds like he is having a hard time.
Barby, I think you are right about the day. Monday could either be 1-5 or 2-1 depends of if Nov 17 was their last day of processing or first day of training.
It's such a relief, when I was in Marine boot camp they made us write whether we wanted to or not.
YAAAY KEV! woo hoo!
Finally!!!!!!!!! I got my first letter! **tears** He actually is liking it (cept P-days) Lots of PT which he likes, also things are rollin along now.. meaning the training. He sounds great.
