Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Non-traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at Ruby Tuesdays, topped off with takeout coca cola chocolate cake from Cracker Barrel! YUM! Hope all had a good day. This is my 1st Thanksgiving with sailor son in 2 yrs....he has missed 2 because of the NAVY so glad that I came up here this year. In Williamsburg....so quaint and pretty here. He invited a NAVY buddy to join us tomorrow....a history buff who will take us to all of the great places of history here. Glad to have him join us....since he is alone for Thanksgiving. Hope he will enjoy a bit of familly time.

BUT the day isn't over.. like Rexy said... so thankful that our SRs are getting a great meal..thats a thing i can say about Navy boot food... it does NOT suck... and it gets better from here too...anyways.Have a great day...

Comment by Rexy on November 24, 2011 at 2:58pm: I would love to hear from my son today, but I don't think we should get our hopes up. Our recruits have been there the least amount of time. If anyone will get to call it will be the more senior recruits.

Let's just be thankful they are getting a great holiday meal and holiday routine and maybe we will all get a letter next week.

I would LOVE to hear from my son today though :)

I am thinking they all get adopted for Thanksgiving for different churches and organizations. Many of the people there bring their cell phones and let the recruits use their phones. I am not positive but I think and I hope this is true for all of them.
